It is still their fault though. I work with aluminum and have worked a lot with anodising over the years and these issues should not be happening. You use inorganic dyes and avoid red pigmented colours as a usual rule of thumb.

Apple has added new colors to iPhone models mid–life before. But this time, they did it dynamically. Instead of having to buy a new model to get a new color, your current phone changes color! Apple sure is generous these days!
So the same two sets of pictures float around on the internet and we apparently have a fabricated "colorgate"

It's a bit like those toy cars from the 1990's that you dipped in water and they changed colour.
I said this with the first orange rumour. Orange is the most difficult colour to produce. It shows now.
Could this be temperature related? I've seen black anodized aluminum heat sinks on amplifiers turn purple or brown over time- a lot of heat and a long time.
Still waiting for Reddit OP to update. 99% of the comments are about how great it looks, 1% actually caring about how. If real, I’d love to hear something from Apple.

I agree, the two-tone is pretty cool, even if unintentional. That said, people not expecting this change - or wanting it either - are bound to be upset or at least disappointed. (if this were 1968, I'd even call it "groovy".)
Even in a clear case? Nice. The case likely has anti-yellowing and other UV-filtering properties. What's the brand?

So far with all these cases it looks like it’s happening in very warm areas with sunlight exposure.
Just apply "Apple Sunblock 50 SPF" (TM) every day before taking the phone outdoors.

Not only on Reddit but also on TikTok.
At this point there has to be something wrong with either this colorway or just a random batch that was produced.
I don't see how it could just be a subset of them, since it's anodized aluminum and presumably the same on all of them.
Any aluminum anodizing experts able to comment about dyes changing colors this quickly?
I think the general consensus on Reddit is that this orange turning pink is bullsh!t.
I've seen delays for new units for up to mid-November. Is it possible there may be tweaking going on to the aluminum manufacturing and anodization processes? (or popularity leading to selling out, or smaller batches of product being made as overproduction doesn't do much good either... or a combo of all those and/or other possibilities.)
