I would strongly consider one if we got a price drop. Also if they could make it a little smaller it would be nice. PZT is a great idea, but it seems like a little much to ask for.
Now that's a good idea. If they did a 2-iSight pack for £99 I'd be in.themacman said:they should sell them in 2 and 1 packages
Seems like I made the right call. Thanks for the report, ibryan.ibryan said:Well...there is no price drop. The Apple store is already selling the "C" model at the same price...you just have to wait two weeks. Also...this probably isn't much of a rev....because there is no change to any of the pictures. It would be false advertising to sell something totally different.
If you order now....you get a "C"...at the same price...that looks the same. My guess is...that you are just going to get maybe a couple of new "stands"...maybe for the iMac...and some small internal changes.
Some form of Windows compatibility would be my new reature request.wrldwzrd89 said:I have no idea what revision my iSight is. Mine's lukewarm right now, and it hasn't been used in a while.
Personally, I'm expecting a pretty minor update to the iSight, similar to what was changed from Rev. A to Rev. B. A few hardware tweaks here, a firmware update there, and Rev. C is born! (Sorry, I don't think a price drop is all that likely.)
jasperv said:Is it true that rev B didn't get as hot? I noticed that my rev A even got pretty warm when it was in "off" mode (plugged in but not being used). With heat == power consumption, I am hesitant to keep it plugged in unless I actually want to use it.
A lower price would be great and some sort of bundle with tiger would be even better. Especially since the new ichat has the multi-way conferencing feature, they've got to get more people using it. I know no PC-using friends that have web cams, for example.

iSight HD anyone?
lol
When someone told me that a year ago (referring to the iChat on PC) I was skeptical. I really didn't see the need for one of your nice iApps be ported.. But if you think about it, it really needs to be. I hate AIM for windows, and i have something to win over my PC friends. Plus better connectivity for us (mac-heads).Beligerent said:I agree with the guy that said NOONE uses video chat yet. Its soooo hard to convince my friends to download AIM just to chat with me when they all use MSN and such. As soon as the PC user needs to start opening ports and messing with their firewall and all that crap the experience goes south quickly and of course they blame the fact that I use a Mac. iChat AV would be a killer pc application too. My brother constantly makes fun of the fact that my Mac doesnt support voice on yahoo messenger. I cant wait for the day when true interoperability is here. The iSight needs to be less expensive and it needs to work on the PC.

I am awfully sure you don't know what "broadcast quality" is.... A 1CCD camera is *not* broadcast quality. If you want true broadcast quality.. it is upwards of 10 grand. I am AWFULLY sure that this won't happen in a iSight. The quality is over-and beyond what most could even run (bandwidth wise). Just imagine the bandwidth you would have to have (not to mention the processing power) to run that thing. Not feasible.GeorgeTheMonkey said:Honestly, I just want an iSight that has a broadcast quality image. As one poster already stated, otherwise the iSight's usefulness is sorely limited (I can video-conference over iChat AV, and I can scan things into Delicious Monster... woo hoo!), even though iMovie HD now supports capturing video via an iSight. Hey, neat idea to implement into iMovie, but I for one like to be able to use iSight footage interchangeably among better quality, camcorder-originated recordings, and be able to show my movies on DVD or TV without cringing in horror.
$150 is well on your way to buying yourself a decent, 1 CCD camcorder (read: cruddy, but better than a webcam, and actually has broadcast quality resolution). So while I would love an iSight, I really can't quite justify the price for the iSight's current specs and offerings.

That is classic humor, right there.
