I'm sure there are complaints about it not being ready but frankly for such a great app that is free ... I don't complain.

Just installed it now. Working good and its great having these stats ever present in the menu bar. Saves me checking dashboard every so often and i have now removed iStat pro so it means i can get more widgets up instead :D

yeah but don"t forget that the SL beta was available before for developers.

Yes but did it ever occur to you that it simply was not done? When you pay for iStat then you can bitch. I for one have never donated (just being honest) so when they weren't ready I wasn't here bitching about it.

Now, if something like Raw Photo Processor (also donate ware) was not updated I'd be annoyed since they've gotten a donation twice off me.

I do not bitch about the government if I don't vote and I don't bitch about updates if I don't pay. Simple.

Adding to that, not every developer gets a dev copy of SL, some probably just wait out till it's released and rush an update (although I'm sure that's not the case with iSlayer).

It is a 32-bit app.

Why not just flip the 64-bit flag on the compiler?

Probably some incompatible kexts

Seriously why are you so aggressive ? I am NOT BITCHING AROUND as you say ! I never do especially as far as software is concerned since I'm a software engineer myself.

I just pointed the fact that they might have been working on it since longer time. That's all.

So chill out, calm down and you'll be ok.

Damn!

I like the Leopard version better. I don't like how the temperature and fan sensors have to be together - had it set up a specific way in Leopard. I know that's personal preference but still, don't know why they had to change it. But still, nice to know we got iStat Menu back in SL.

Just the daemon that collects the reports. The pref pane is 64bit, so you don't have to restart System Preferences to open it. The extras are 64bit too (I think that is required. In fact, I think the whole issue with iStat Menus in Snow Leopard was 32bit MenuCracker + 64bit SystemUIServer = no. As I recall, the old version worked on Core Duo machines)

Installed here too, it's working great. I was wondering if anyone found a way to change the font (TPM, MEM, ect.) to black?

I did run into a problem with iStat and wanted to let people know about it.

I went to install iStat Menus (latest version for SL) but when I saw the notification about needing to download monitoring tools I just clicked the 'cancel' option and thought nothing of it.

Then, a day or so later it occurred to me that my iMac would no longer sleep. I tried everything trying to figure out what was going on, even going so far as to reload Snow Leopard and reimport my user and applications data from a Time Machine backup.

Finally I noticed an iStat process running and was scratching my head trying to figure out where it was coming from. After all I had clicked 'cancel' during the install and I had never seen a screen confirmation that it was installed. It wasn't in my Applications folder either.

Then I looked into the System Preferences and discovered that iStat was installed, kind of. Apparently without the install being 'completed' it was sitting there hogging up IO and never letting the machine go to sleep.

I went ahead and re-installed it and then completely uninstalled it and my iMac is sleeping again.

Just a heads up to other potential users, I dropped a note about this to the developers of the application, maybe they can sort it out eventually.

Thanks for the heads up, however, I just set my sleep time for 1 minute and after 1 minute it appears to sleep.

As I said in my (overly long) post, I think the problem probably had to do with installing iStat but NOT installing the temperature monitoring utilities. It also could have simply been an incomplete installation.

In any event, uninstalling iStat completely resolved the sleep problem with my Mac.
