According to one unconfirmed source, marketing materials are being completed for a November 26th announcement of a localized version of the iTMS for Canada. Details are slim, but songs are expected to be listed at $0.99 Canadian.
Not a bad deal for Canadian customers, considering the 78¢ Canadian dollar...Macrumors said:According to one unconfirmed source, marketing materials are being completed for a November 26th announcement of a localized version of the iTMS for Canada. I would be a big supporter of the iTMS Canada, but I've been burned on enough of these rumours that I'm taking a "I'll believe it when I see it" attitude. If and when the iTMS shows up, I'll give credence to MacRumours, but this is the third time a rumour of this time has been posted (in my counting).Veldek said:Wow, not much interest for such a big news (if true, of course). I really hope it's true this time, because it's not the first time this rumor comes up...
$0.99 is perfectly reasonable for the country. PureTracks, Canada's equivalent of O2 in England, sells most tracks for $0.99 and most albums for $9.99. It's WMA only, and has a sucky interface, but it's one of the only services around, and a lot of third-party services are just rebranding PureTracks these days. iTMS can't come soon enough.Mudbug said:I thought the same thing - but then again, this is page 2 for a reason![]()

Yes, we'd have a bunch of Americans trying to purchase iTunes through Canadian stores, just like we have with prescription drugs and on-line Canadian pharmacies...wordmunger said:If this is true, then instead of Canada moaning about how everyone else has ITMS, everyone else will be moaning about how ITMS Canada charges only $.77 U.S. I guess turnabout is fair play...

If apple was bringing itunes to us they might want to get their hands on the itunes.ca website. As of today the site is still pointing to musicdownload.ca. If they haven't already sent a cease a desist order there i doubt a launch is imminent.
just my 2 cents
