TVs have usage contexts totally different from wearables

But Apple's strength is amazing hardware plus great integration with software. I think they see that there's an opportunity to do that for many products. I'm sure a TV made by Apple wouldn't just be a high quality screen. There'd be more to it. Probably FaceTime, probably some sort of motion and eye sensing that was developed for the AVP.Makes very little sense for Apple make their own TVs. What would make "some" sense is if they did some sort of CarPlay like thing that TV makers could adopt. Sorta like what some have done with Roku.
Make the UI an app for the IP*, Mac, etc (or maybe even web interface), that way one would not need to do a frantic search for the remote. So first they need an outstanding UI/UX as literally all TVs have slow, slow, slooowww, ugly, unintuitive interfaces. Easy fix for Apple.
You get what you pay forI have several smaller tv's that i just want to use as dumb tv's... yet every time i turn them on i have to wait while it loads their crap OS/system before it then exits out to whatever i want to do. Its beyond frustrating and slow.
I'm not overly happy with my Sony remote either though. Some of the buttons I use frequently are tiny and I don't always find them right away in the dark.On the other hand, with Apple TV set you'd get their stupid remote control which might be a bigger problem.
At least it has buttons and does not have sharp edges.I'm not overly happy with my Sony remote either though. Some of the buttons I use frequently are tiny and I don't always find them right away in the dark.
I don't mind my Apple TV remote, besides I recon the Apple Actual TV would have a more detailed remote. At least it has buttons and does not have sharp edges.
How about a mesh AirPort Extreme? Please Apple
I think several router companies far exceeded what Apple could ever provide for the price. I did use a couple of Airport Extremes but it was very lacking on being used for other purposes then what Apple intended. Like an Airport Extreme couldn't be used as a wireless ethernet bridge, and the Airport Express couldn't act like a router. Apple currently pushes these mesh products in their store. I am a fan of Netgear's solutions for their range/performance and latest WiFi standards. How about a mesh AirPort Extreme? Please Apple
220ppi in a 65” screen would make a 12K TV. Even if they invented a way to carry that much bandwidth with high refresh rate, you wouldn’t find any 12K content, and unless you watch your 65” TV from 2 feet away, you wouldn’t need that 220 ppi.If it has the price of a TV and 220ppi so that you can get a Mac monitor cheaper than the Apple Studio, I applaud it. Otherwise, I pass
How about Apple Watch? My question is: what is Apple going to call it? "Apple TV" is already the name of the streaming box. I guess they could call it "Apple Box", but that's confusing. Oh heck, knowing them, they're going to call it "Apple TV Max" and its defining feature is that it plays Apple TV+ and nothing else.
That’s the jokeCollectors value? It’s not even selling, lol good luck
My Apple TV remote is by far the worst remote among all of my streamer remotes (which include Roku and Nvidia Shield). It has the worst size and shape ergonomically, the weakest connection (resulting in frequent disconnects) and no dedicated Fast Forward and Rewind buttons.I don't mind my Apple TV remote, besides I recon the Apple Actual TV would have a more detailed remote.
Yes I need adblocker support, that’s not optional…literally using a computer monitor as a TV because I do the same thing.Wake me when someone decides to make a 'dumb' TV again. Something with a gorgeous display that does absolutely nothing except display whatever content I feed into it via a variety of ports.
Is that too much to ask???
That’s hisense! I mean, nonsense. The best TV on the market right now is Hisense’s 115” TV that does 4K and 10k nits HDR.
I turn off all the “smart” features and never connect to the Internet my LG OLED TVs. It’s the same as making it a dumb TV. Then I use AppleTV for everything with it. Works amazing. I don’t understand the people who want to allow the manufacturers to slow down their TV with updates and ads. In addition, TV brands software and UI seem like garbage compared to AppleTV. Have tried Roku, but AppleTV just makes the most sense - best $150 I pay Apple for each TV. Especially since Apple changed the controller. And the VPN feature is awesome too!Wake me when someone decides to make a 'dumb' TV again. It’s a crap Chinese brand. That’s hisense! I mean, nonsense.
Hisense has some very bright TVs but they are nowhere as good as early OLEDs from 2017. Their blacks are simply lacking.
Depends on the use case. I have two LG OLED that are amazing, but in a bright room, need Mini LED or QLED. Have a Samsung Frame in one bright room. Also this poster was talking about a supersized TV! Try buying that in OLED.That’s hisense! I mean, nonsense.
