Well, I finally jumped up to the 5 digit totals, and also got my daily average up over 1k. Should eventually make the top 5 producer list, as I have a couple new machines to add this week, and also my other machines are finally starting to a) produce the points I expected, and b) outweigh my first couple weeks of lower production.

Anyways, I'd like to bust into the top 100 before the month is out, but I don't think I am going to make it... I'll give it a good try though! I'm trying to get my daily production up enough that we can start pulling away from Team AnandTech rather than them gaining on us! Sure, they are 10 years behind at the current rates, but I'd rather that they not be gaining on 3446 at all!

At this rate, you are at number 142 by the end of the month (source: http://folding.extremeoverclocking.com/user_future.php?u=148312&f=20 ). It's time to get some more machines for myself!

The trouble with the extremeoverclocking site's future prediction is that it is based on your average 24 hour production over the lifetime of your contribution (or am I wrong on this?) and not your current 24 hour poduction averages. I spend a few weeks at about 300 per day, and I should be up in the 1500 per day rnge now. However, the average is about 1100, so it's showing my future based on bad numbers. At least that seems to be how it works to me, I can't really say for sure.

Anyways, I don't think I will make the 100 mark by months end, but before the end of September for sure! :)

It's based on the last 7 days production. If you divide that total by 7 you will get your current daily average. So if you have a really good day you can boost your average for a week but then it will start to slump once that day disappears from your total.

Ah ok, that makes good sense. My average should move up a little over the next few days and then level off... Just hop it's enough to get into the top 5 daily producers list, but I think with the addition of the other two machines I will be adding tomorrow I can do it! Thanks for the info. :)

Made the MR top 20 (Yay!) and passed my 8000 and 9000 milestones.
Got another Mini online yesterday, so the rig is
2 x Mini
1 x PM G4 Dual 1.25 GHz
3 x P4 2.4-2.8 GHz
1 x P4 2.8 GHz DualCore

Wow

That is a little humbling....
1 x AMD XP @ 2.4GHz
1 x PB G4 1.5 (which only folds occasionally)

So, I'll get you someday....when your area has blackouts or something

Heh! Helps that I can install on all my office computers so I can leave them folding all night and all weekend.

10,000 milestone!
Nermal, Ham-man, watch your mirrors - object approaching may be closer than it appears ;) :D

Well Ive instaled folding@home on my brothers computer from a month+ now and he still has no clue its on there :D. Ive been doing this for a 2months (mabey?) and im in 534 on team MacRumors so I think thats good

How many points per day do you average? I'd say I average about 100. Some weeks I average as much as 150.

You climb up the ranks quickly in the beginning, but when you get above the 300 stage, it gets harder to pass people.

I have only been folding since 7.17 according to the Extreme site, and up to 650 on the team, which was surprising to me considering where I started.

Good job. Keep it up! I'm assuming that you are folding with your 1.5 GHz PB?

I fold with that occasionally, almost-always with my 1.8GHz AMD but it screws up a lot, so the actual progress is intermittent at best :p XP is really hampering me, I'm sure of it

Well that's a bummer. Is it to the point where a reinstallation is necessary? Sometimes just simple things can fix big problems, like (1) using Firefox instead of IE and (2) Running Ad-Aware.

Either way, I hope you get your AMD machine working more reliably!

When I was away to France for three months I came home to a drive that had died (lovely magnetic media during non-usage times) and strangely, ever since that died there seems to be more spyware/malware than ever on it which is odd simply because it had not changed since I went to France....which before I left it was running fine. I have run the adware/AV stuff and it all checks out, just tons of pop-ups and random annoyances. I am not overly inclined to fix them because my PB works so well and that is all I use for general computing, and for folding the AMD box is reliable enough, I just have to restart it or reset the fah client every once and a while, when things lock up

For the record, I never used IE :)

got up and running today, just my little 1.42 mini (gig of ram, external FW drive) crunching away right now but i will add a few more computers in a few more days, i have a top 100 goal... :D

Great to here that we have a new team member, welcome and enjoy the competition. Set target to catch up with my iBook :p

Started bringing machines up this evening, So far ive got a Dual athlon MP +2400 running 2 clients, a single Xeon 2.0Ghz, a single P4 (can't remember frequency), a 1.42Ghz mac mini, and later tongiht a 1.42Ghz emac, all folding away for me. Ill be clawing my way to the top 50 soon... I will add a few more machines this weekend also, maybe my athlon 64 will join the fight.

Had I so many computers I would be folding away like crasy too, afteall why not? I only have two though, and they fold a lot. How hot can my G4 get? it says 141.3ºF, folding under full load, is that okay? screw my AMD, it can burn up for all i care, just the perfect excuse to upgrade a dying piece.

I'm going down the ranks, now #41 later today #42.... Had some trouble with the security update from Apple, downloaded V1.0, but that version doesn't like folding/the script of mc68k a lot. So my machines weren't folding for a couple of days... Now with V1.1 everything is up and running! And I will get back my spot @ #41 on monday! You can count on that Mr Jon Landau!

I'm still inching up the ranks... 202 right now, but I will bust into the top 200 as soon as the next WU finishes. Still in top 5 producers, too! I should make the top 50 by the end of September or so, but it'll be years before I can make the top 10 :(

I noticed your beast-like daily average the other day (as you were about to pass me). I don't know what you're folding with, but holy hell, it's working!
