That's weird. Team MR have almost double the output. They've definitively changed something.

Check your user outputs... I normally do about 2 WU/day. Today I've done 7! That's crazy talk

Edit: Alright....

Saw this on the F@H forums:

PS We've just run an analysis of uncredited WUs and found an issue. We'll run a recrediting batch which should solve this issue.

From the Front Page:

8/21/2005 Stats crediting. We have developed a way to efficiently test to see whether a WU has been credited and are running a stats update with this tool. WUs which haven't been credited in the past for some issue will likely be credited in this upcoming pass. We have a long list of WUs from the past which were potentially not credited due to one issue or another. Since many checks must be made during this process (in order to not to double credit), this process is very slow and may take 1-3 days to complete.

Explains the sudden burst in credits. :)

Ive finaly got into the to 600 and nearly into the top 500 which was my aim :D Thanks to the sudden burst in unprocessed wu's im sitting on a 6 point a day average. Sounds small, but thats my highest ever :p

seems a lot of people got some big points today :)

keep up the good work

I didn't realize that I wasn't getting credit for so many WUs, and I check somewhat obsessively to see how I'm doing. But I'm not going to complain about it. If only we could keep yesterday's production going....

Efoto, have you installed the security update? It gave me a couple of folding errors and had to install it 4 times. Therefore my daily average is now 66 per day, instead 266... Only thing that helps is to reinstall folding after deleting everything, and don't change anything in your system!

I have installed the security update, and to date have also reinstalled fah at least 5 times (delete the app and the folding@home folder in the library) and yet every time I cannot get a protein to process  This is getting really frustrating, only my AMD is chugging and quite slowly....I can't seem to get my PB folding for the life of me. Has any other info come about or anyone else having problems of late??

What app are you using Efoto so we can narrow what to delete. Might i suggest downloading increase, which will search your computer for wu's. When the wu is tracked delete it plus the application you were using to fold and maybe you should delete the library, plist, etc.

Once every thing is gone to do with folding and you have the new security update installed. You may install your folding app of your choose, or use increase if you wish. Just make sure in preferences you fold for our team as it will automatically fold for team mac os x.

I heard there where some problems with the Stanford servers, and heard more about WU's getting send back unfinished.

Quite the opposite, Stanford processed wu's that were not reregistered. So we got about 225,000 points in that day  I myself got 116 points :D

I have just been using the fah5 client downloaded off of the Stanford site, I had no idea there were even other apps that folded , I'm a virgin to folding, at least recently was. I am in the process of getting InCrease on my system and completely removing everything related to folding to try again. Is there a different app that works better than the basic fah5 client off of Stanford's site??

I use this: http://calnet.sdsu.edu/mc68k/

It was created right here by one of our own, mc68k. It works great!

I like increase its got lots of features and is simple. Just make sure to change the preferences to our team as i said. Then click the install icon. Also compared to Stanford's you can close the app and f@h will run in the background, still.

To be clear, Increase, like mc68k's script still use the Stanford command line client. They simply install it as a background task and allow manipulation of the task using simple commands. So you really aren't running any different program for folding you are just changing the way you interface with the command line tool from Stanford.

exactly

increase is GUI, my scripts are command line (IMO using a GUI for something so simple is a waste of resources)

When I used FAH4 there weren't any problems, only when I switched to release 5 these kind of problems began. I saw that Stanford still has the FAH4 app on their website, maybe you should use that one. mc68k is you still have that one for a duallie, could you sent it to me, or put it back on your page. I think I would go back to that version.

I cannot seem to find where you are referring to on Stanford's site that still has FAH4 for Mac systems. I might just not know where to look, but all I get for download options is 5.02 for Mac and 5.03 & 4.0 for Win :(

If anyone has FAH4, I would love to get my hands on it and see if that fixes my issues.

efoto, your absolutely right, they don't offer V4 for the Mac anymore. Too bad...

Okay, well at least I can stop looking for it then. I asking just in case they had it logged somewhere deep in a downloads-history page or something that they didn't have linked directly off the homepage to.

I have deleted and re-installed the app over 10 times now, still can't get more than 3 frames complete before it says "faulty work unit" or "work unit finished early". I grabbed my parent's system this past weekend while I was home, but dad said he wouldn't leave it running all week, only on weekends when I can watch it (like its prone to mess up or something). Oh well....anyone else still having crazy issues with fah since the security update?

just let it run a couple of days, and look at it then, maybe you only get a couple of errors and then it clears up. Is your Mac by any chance been overclocked, or is it overclocked? Folding doesn't like overclocked machines, because it could create faults in the WU, therefore terminating it early.

I have let it run for longer than a 24 hour period and found that all I get (in the logs checking what it has done) is a ton of errors or faulty WUs, which is just a little odd considering I never had the problems before.

As far as overclocking, not to my knowledge unless something I installed randomly upped my clock :p, at least I hope I can stick my tongue out at that. It is just a stock rev.d PB, 1.5GHz G4 proc running around 103ºF surfing, roughly 141ºF when at 100% when folding. Assuming those are within regular specs, and all other things are constant....well the only difference was my change-over to Tiger and that security update, both leaving me a little confused to the origin of my issues

It's about time! :D

efoto, I think I have the same, I sometimes do 6 WU's per day on a dual G5. That's a bit much, so I think they also terminate early. But I still get the points for it!

A little bit of braggin' :D

Top 500, woohoo. I am back to school and was browsing around, catching up on mails and the like and checked my stats, 492 currently. Great news considering all I had this weekend was my parents system I 'borrowed' before I left town for the holiday weekend, since when I arrived back to my apt. my desktop had spilt compu-guts all over and was stuck :( Could have had more I suppose, but that is still pretty neat to me :)
