It's been snowing for some time now, and the ground is covered with that white stuff. Christmas certainly comes to mind then.
No kidding, though I started seeing Christmas stuff in August at various retailers, excluding the ones that had "Christmas in July" sales. Moratorium on decorations and stuff until November at least, PLEASE!EricNau said:I remember last year we were trying to buy patio furniture (It was right before the 4th of July, and Target had already gotten rid of it all![]()

I think that's what I miss most. I used to live close to the mountains and we actually got lots of snow, and started in the fall. Where I am now, we're lucky to get one good snowstorm a year, and it usually isn't until around New Year's. Applespider said:That's exactly why I'm making it this weekend! Gives me two months to wrap it up in foil and 'water' it with Amaretto every week so that it will be lovely, rich, moist and slightly alcoholic when it's sliced on Christmas night.
And yeah, we have no holidays in the UK left so it's allowedHaving said that, if it wasn't more having to make the cake, I'd not be thinking about Christmas at all!

There's about 1/3 out of the bottle so far soaking the fruit and I suspect there might just about be enough for a single liqueur coffee in late December...
