In the UK, I'm seeing a lot of people who would have stuck with their SE/6S/7/8 quite excited about moving to an 11, and a large part of it is price and it not being explicitly tagged as the cheaper option (screen is the next draw, your average user is also dimly aware of a camera upgrade).
I work in IT so I get asked about new phones constantly. I'm going for an 11 for a couple of years until 5G, USB-C and the upcoming redesign are matured, then I'll switch back to a Pro most likely. The screen is a big deal for me going from an 8, I travel way more now and a lot of that is spent staring at my phone.
It also does seem more fun buying a phone for the equivalent of one month's mortgage payment rather than two.
