Sometimes people focus their frustration on small things because the big things are either too big or too abstract to express frustration about. Everyone has something in their lives that's difficult or painful, but they're not always things people feel comfortable venting their unhappiness about.

There's also the issue of reliability and expectation. People have come to rely on certain things like Apple releases or whatever because there are so many unreliable things (important ones, like health and finance and opportunity and love) in their lives, and they expect those things to remain reliable. When they prove to be otherwise, it's upsetting.

I take your point, and I'm sure we can definitely come across as a bunch of petulant and spoiled brats, lol. But I think it helps to remember that this is a) only a tiny fraction of what anybody here says or does in their day, and b) a rare place where people feel comfortable being completely honest about the depth of their disappointment or excitement.

At the end of the day, it's just an outlet for people, and that's not such a terrible thing.

Yeah I understand. I don't necessarily agree about some of the post here, but who says we have to agree on everything. I guess the OP's thoughts were things I having been thinking about, and how maybe my energy and money could be used in better ways.

I am not trying to rain on anyone's parade. I hope everyone enjoys there AW.

Apparently being a watch is what is does the poorest on of.

a) there aren't enough faces and the ones they have don't do a great job at customization. Really you can't make it look like a really nice watch too easily. Part of the issue is that unlike the Moto it isn't round and that does take away from the watch face aspect though it helps it everywhere else. The Apple Watch doesn't even have a words watch face like the Pebble.

b) there is a delay at getting the watch face to appear when raising it and you can't simply turn your wrist and look down at it because that doesn't trigger it.

So it is a very very smart watch / super connected device bringing phone notifications, apps and Siri to your wrist, but as a watch "It's just a watch!" is where it is the least appealing.

My opinion...

It's right in line with the previous dude that compared the OP to going to a sports bar and telling everyone to chill cause it's just a game.

I would needle a fellow like that. Of course you have your opinion. That's great.

I'm a grown man and provide for my family. My wife is a cop and works nights dealing with people who are insane. I tutor 75 kids a week one on one.

I'm here because I dig gadgets and ordered a watch.

OP tells everyone to chill. I think that's dumb. That's my opinion. Who named him or you the head Buddha?

This is the patch of internet where nerds come to nerd.
The thing you don't understand is my OP was not telling anyone how they should think. I was only expressing my opinion. If you or anyone else does not agree that is fine.

I have no idea what the OP's intentions were with his post, but I know mine were just purely thoughts that I had. I don't think anyone needs to think like I do about it. I also don't think my post suggested that.

My posts also came from thoughts in my head. We have that in common. Except yours were from your head and mine from mine.

It is not just a watch. It is something I can use to share my heartbeat with to a total stranger I meet on Craigslist :D
