I doubt the first 12,000 would slow production too much to delay day-of-keynote release, at least that is what I'm hoping as I have been another one of those that has been holding out ready to buy it the day it comes out. I just hope that if there is a delay it's more like this weekend than 2 weeks, waiting anymore would not be much fun. Definitely looking forward to the event. The 32GB will be hot in my hands the day I can get it.

3.1 should be released.

iTunes 9 with some added features and functionality.

8GB 3GS

What's with all these lame "media events"? Why can't they just release new products like everyone else. Why do they need a "media event" just to announce a bigger ipod or a new iTunes? So what? Seems kind of overblown to me.

Because they can.:apple:

You can guarantee Paul McCartney will be there acting like he's still cool and then he'll call it "eTunes" or "M3p Player" or something.

Cool man, PEACE. :(

Because the press attends and generates a great deal of publicity, which helps Apple sell its products.

Ah, there's nothing like analysts spreading a little extra BS before the keynote to lower the stock price of Apple for a better buy when the keynote finally does come out.

Was my first thought. You know how they say "Buy on rumor, sell on news". Well, what's better than a bad rumor followed by good news. And if Apple comes out with a surprise for the One More Thing, then even better news.
By the way, I'm betting that the one more thing this time will not only be a product announcement, but Steve Jobs coming out on stage to close the show himself. You know how he is the master of the reveal, what better thing to reveal than his return to Apple.
He can't leave the media and shareholders to stew for another 4 months with speculations of his health. Either he makes an appearance or people will start to get worried more and more about his health.

i love you man

I think it's about time that the iPod caught up with some technology that music players had years ago. Features that the iPod, for all its plaudits, has NEVER had...

Seriously, my old Sony media player which I bought in the EIGHTIES had the following features:

1. Auto Reverse
2. Dolby B
3. Chrome and Metal settings
4. Unlimited storage (replaceable music 'cassettes')
5. MegaBass(TM)

Frankly, until Apple pull their fingers out and put these features on one of their media players, I'm not interested.

hahahaha...

this so funny man....hahahah..

i love u man..keep the good humor.

regards,

dairi:D

Got Beatles, Calll Orkin

1. Purchase The Beatles Remastered Box Set

2. Rip it all

3. Why so much excitement for it to be on the iTunes Store?

They enjoy paying more for less quality. Or maybe the Beatles sound better with a lower quality recording. I only thought that one of their songs sounded good enough to listen to. That was my opinion when I was in high school when their shouting, (singing) was first made. My opinion has not changed since then. So in my opion, Who Cares.

It's definitely the Beatles..

Paul McCartney wouldn't authorize it until after Michael Jackson died in order to amass a greater revenue for himself from royalties.. He is still pissed at MJ for stealing the catalog from him.. LOL

I grew up with the Beatles and there is plenty of CD's out there to buy and rip into the iPhone.

The new remastered material and videos can be obtained here: http://www.thebeatles.com/

I am sure you can move them to iTunes, and get all the content that is ussualy missing from downloaded songs. Not only that, but if you need to, you can always re-import the songs into iTunes anytime you want, even years later.

I still like to have physical media.

Why is it so important that iTunes sell their songs?
I do not get it.

Apple needs the money. Physical media is a bag of hurt for Midas.

Hopefully there is something exciting that I haven't heard about, but since its an Apple event I am doubtful.

Is this tablet thing still happening?

Are you new to the Apple world? It's called marketing and it's been like this since even before the return of Steve Jobs.

Apple is only company that can command the attention the worldwide tech media at each and every event.

(

When you're that rich, you can call iTunes and iPod whatever you want. At the end of the day, he's still rich and successful. ;)

Quiet. Almost too quiet...

This is weird. 24 hours before a Mac event and we haven't heard any rumors since late yesterday afternoon. I'm used to getting a rumor once an hour at this point. Strange.

I finally finished my business in Vegas, and got back to San Francisco. so it's time to rock & roll tomorrow? that always makes me excited. I guess that's why iTunes store didn't update for new free songs, music video, TV shows last night. so it's definitely right that Apple will announce iTunes 9.0. by the way, the title "it's only rock & roll' means really only rock & roll tomorrow? no more new product? (ha ha ha I'm just kidding).:D

well, we all know that we can buy CD and rip to itunes whayever you want. but that's not the point. the point is that long battle between Apple and Beattles could be ended beautifully under every agreement? because they use the same name 'apple' as record company. that's why it has significant when their entire albums will be available from iTunes.

Is this tablet thing still happening?

Despite all the naysayers, my hunch is yes. The device would after all be a close relative of the iPod Touch. Maybe they will consider the tablet part of the iPod line?

I basically agree for this event. If this event is just to announce newer iPods, it seems like a big waste of money. But hey, Apple can spend their money however they want.

Me? I wouldn't wait in line or go to a "show" that is simply going to state "the new ipods have X Y and Z and they will be available in 2 weeks...have a nice day". Not to mention the iPod is on it's 6th generation...it's not a new product line or next killer toy.

I'll follow the show live on the web...or at worst I will go the Apple website later this week and see what changes have been announced.

Exactly. This time last year they had nothing to announce because everything leaked. This year the lid has been kept on the rumors apart from "They are adding cameras".

No spy shots or anything of that type.

The media events are for the press only. It's not Macworld. Unless you're a select member of the press or an Apple employee, you're not going to have to worry about going to an Apple media event. Heh.
