Around 10mm is thin enough. If they manage to make the lcd and circuit board thinner/smaller, I'd rather they increase battery size.

Sometimes I think lucky that the iPhone isn't as thin as the iPod touch. Holding the iPod in hand Ifor longer time don't feel right. Of course the battery need to have a solid size to drive iPhone requirement.

Because the iPhone isn't customizable in terms of how thin it is.

Really

You're stating fact that future iphone models could not be produced in a thinner fashion?

How do you know this?

Unless you work for Apple and can provide proof then you are acting quite the fool

My fear is that they would make it thinner and then give it a bigger screen. Have you ever tried to use a phone with a bigger screen they are big bulky and hard to fit into your pocket easily and for guys who don't walk around with purses having it fit in your pocket is important. Just saying.

Really, it is.

To you, it's thin enough. Others want it thinner. That's the cool thing about opinions and America. We are all allowed to have them, and we are all allowed to voice them. :)

And just to get this out there... I think it's fine, and always have.

Might have to do with cost and a variety of other things. The razr maxx is thinner however it has more area. If you subtract the extra area you still have a thinner device with a larger battery.

I think the glass is thicker vs plastic and the iPhones LCD takes up a bit more room etc etc. I think apple could do it but would require a lot to be redesigned.

I don't like the glass back. It is thick (liquid metal would be better), fragile (liquid metal would be better) and does not contribute to the edge thickness that is important for a comfortable hold.

I find an iPod touch more comfortable to hold than my iPhone 4 unless I am using the free bumper I got. The iPhone 4 is the first phone I have used where have it in some kind of case. It is too fragile and uncomfortable otherwise.

I love love love the design on the 4 / 4S, I don't think they can make one better. It's one of the only products I can look at and think it is built perfectly.
The iPhone 1, 3g, and 3gs were nice I guess, but nothing in comparison. I would almost say that the build quality on an iPhone 4 is the nicest build of any product I have seen to date.

The thing's plenty thin already. I voted no. I'd rather see a more capacious battery even if it meant a silly millimeter or more thickness (a la The New iPad, aka "iPad 3/iPad HD").

Frankly I've found all my iPhones to be just slightly awkward to hold when making a call. Too thin, hard to get a grip, feels perilous.

The phone which felt the very best in my hand was my old Motorola StarTAC.

Thinness is overrated.

They will stop asking for thinner one once it becomes thin enough that it's going to snap in half in their pocket by accident and Apple won't take responsibility for it.;)

I wish they used grippier materials. Before I had an iPhone, I had a small Sony Ericsson phone that had a slightly rubberised coating that was extremely grippy.

The same holds true for the connectors. When I attach the USB connector to the back of my iMac, it is difficult to get it out again. Gripping a small surface area of a shiny material to pull it out of a tight connector does not work too well.

It's thin enough.

Really, it is. We aren't at the point where we Apple can make it thinner without compromising battery life and component addition, and most importantly, making it thinner will just make it easier to break and lose.

Stop asking for it to be thinner, Paris Hilton wannabes.

It could be a bit thinner and lighter :D

I would also light it to be lighter and thinner. If they switch away from a glass back that should make it lighter by default so i hope it happens. I also would like a curved backplate, similar to the 3GS. The 3GS felt better in your hand with the curved edges.

If the iPhone got as thing as the iPod Touch, then I'd be a happy camper. Would really love an iPhone that size. That said I really do love my white 4s with its bricky design, it does look gorgeous that way.

just let apple do what they do best.

Am I the only ones who misses the corded phones of my youth? The ones where you could crank your neck and shoulder just a tad and have full use of both your hands (at least, until you walked too far and the cord snaps the phone back and away from you).

Best of both worlds. Still can use your hands, but you're not totally stuck sitting in the chair on the phone that is just a few feet too far from that thing you need.
