First attempt, link said iTunes 10, but installed 9. Second attempt worked. Except for the new icon, it still looks about the same at a glance.

I think that it is still a bloated piece of crap. It is (as it has been) laggy even on a high end windows machine.

hmm, not so sure about the interface. Too pale now. The checkboxes have also lost their colour. I really hate the icon too...in my dock, the musical note(s) look off centre, as if they are shifted too far to the left.

As for Ping,i don't get it. I also don't like that it forces a full name rather than a nickname.

On the plus side, the error I was getting when checking for app updates is fixed. I would get an error every time I went to download a batch of a updates, telling me the information was out of date. Appareently this was due to having apps that are no longer available in the store.

Overall, I was hoping itunes 10 would bring less bloat. Instead, with Ping, it has brought more.

Anyone else having problems? Mine still says I am running the current version 9.2.1 when I check for updates in iTunes, and under the main update tab. Went to Apples site to click download, and get coming soon message.

On my mini, by the way.

Like:

-The slimmer interface

Dislike:

-the icon
-Slower scrolling compared to the last version (they finally got the inertial scrolling FAST in list view...now they broke it)
-The dull grey sidebar icons.

So who wants to place bets on when we'll see a cocoa rewrite?

Considering Jobs recently slammed Adobe for not using Cocoa 64-bit in its apps until recently, it's PATHETIC that Apple still isn't.:mad::mad:Don't have much hope that Final Cut Pro will get a rewrite now either.

This is also the most hideous looking iTunes I have ever had. The grayscale is awful, and makes that thick yellow playback bar at the top look even worse (not sure why that has even survived this long).

The color's duke the colors!!!

Why did they take away all the icon colors, I identify them with that not the icon... Ugh, I really wanted to like the new iTunes, but instead they just make it grey.

I agree! there has to be a way to put the colors back

Ping is useless you can only like 10 songs (wtf). Omg I can finally look at all 2 reviews I have done on the itunes store, and I can finally follow lady gaga and katy perry (both are rubbish). such a ground breaking feature,

last.fm > ping

When I first clicked on it said iTunes 10 coming soon. Then I click again and it's available for download. I repeated this a bunch of times and every other time I get the available for download screen. Weird.

The update completely screwed up my sorting. Some artist names were changed to "unknown", some were changed to other names, and lots of other weirdness abounds. My library is now a complete mess. Wait until 10.0.1.

STAY AWAY FROM THIS UPDATE, SEE ABOVE

You can't really compare the two.. Ping is brand new; it's been released to the public for what? Half an hour? Give it some time. :S

really, my library is just over 60gb (all correctly tsgged music) and updated fine. hope you had a backup.

iTunes is still a bloated piece of software for me even after the update. It always will be unless it gets a real revamp...

Strike that - I cleared my cache, and it found the update.
