iTunes 10 Now Available to Download

i like it, but i don't like the vertical red, green, and yellow buttons in the top left corner, or the gray logos on the side.

A few comments...I thought we would finally be able to use airport express for video audio streaming now! So is it only with apple tv? Secondly, love the new list view but sucks that now all the albums show.

I'm unable to download from the Apple site or from the Software Update. Everytime I click on Download iTunes 10 it goes to the thank you for downloading page and it just hangs there.

The graphite icons should obey the mac os x system preference settings; graphite is too depressing for me, I liked the colors better.

Also, iTunes has stopped working with my Airport Express: it refuses to connect. I've restarted both and still. Firewall is off and the airport streams music from other sources (other macs and other software on my mac). I have a workaround, so it's not so bad for me.

Apart from these, I'm liking it.

I guess OS X graphite theme users will appreciate the more depressing look of the new icons, but they're not for me.

The new icons help you to concentrate on the real important tasks.

Wow, I really like this Ping thing. Getting updates from my favorite musicians like that is actually really useful. I hate the new design of iTunes though. Very uncolorful, and the icon doesn't represent that at all. I do notice that it runs better, though.

Edit: Holy crap, you can follow Steve Jobs.

Edit 2: The "live change" of the memory bar on the iPhone tab is very useful when adding things to my iPhone. I approve!

Not appearing on Software Update

As of 7:51 p.m. PDT, it was not appearing on Software Update. I'm using OS X 10.6.4.

Strange, I'm not getting the update available. I wonder if there is an effort to create a rolled launch over a day or two? They could just be telling certain itunes to update but others could be delayed. I'll check back in an hour and see what I see.

I REALLY don't like the grey icons on the left. Always makes me think the window has lost focus (in the computer terminology way). Very not liking, or the vertical close/minimize/maximize icons. Seems not very Apple.

You can't resize videos within iTunes anymore either! You have to "open in new window" in order to set the video to any size other than "Fit to screen". What was Apple thinking with this update?!

Lack of color depresses you? Maybe you should examine other parts of your life... I think it's pretty elegant, and from the perspective of a graphic designer, it all fits together wonderfully.

Ping has a little ways to go before it'll be universally accepted, but so far it's pretty neat.

The update completely screwed up my sorting. Some artist names were changed to "unknown", some were changed to other names, and lots of other weirdness abounds. My library is now a complete mess. Wait until 10.0.1.
