Agreed. It seems like iTunes although part of iLife is on it's own little agenda.

itunes doesn't need upgrading and if it does it'll be with the arrival of tiger.
blybug said:FYI
Some but not all songs de-DRM'ed with Hymn no longer work. Reverting back to 4.7 brings them back to life.
And before the usual debate begins, let it be known I have purchased 2228 songs at the iTMS for use on my own iTunes and iPod, and have "Hymned" them so they will play on my Elgato EyeHome. They have never been shared with anyone or been made available on any P2P network. I am not complaining or expecting that I deserve some support from Apple for this, nor do I blame them for breaking Hymn with incremental updates. I am aware that using Hymn is risky and will forever be fraught with frustration and the possibility of losing the ability to play my purchased music.
Now, commence with banishing me to hell.
ok i'm sorry.Diatribe said:Maybe for you it doesn't. Maybe you are one of the people that are content with a 20GB HD too, that doesn't mean though that there's no need to build 80GB HDs...![]()

what i meant was itunes doesn't need uprgrading.
of course there are things that i would like to see added to it, but it is not in desperate need of an upgrade. and certainly not before tiger comes out.
now appleworks was something that needed upgrading --> Pages
and the addition of nested folders in iPhoto .etc.
You have 4 iPod Photo's?????Diomedes said:I tested the new 4.7.1 update with all 4 of my iPod photo(s),
stevietheb said:For some it does NEED upgrading. For example, if I'm not mistaken, there is still no way to listen continuously is there (without the between-song pause...which would be nice if you are listening to full concerts in lossless formats...). Support for FLAC and/or SHN would be very nice too!
Hopefully these issues will be addressed with Tiger.
You copy it off your other computer or a backup.Steamboatwillie said:I noticed this too. I appologize for the following, likely obvious, question but how do you revert back to 4.7?

Diomedes said:I tested the new 4.7.1 update with all 4 of my iPod photo(s), and iTunes 4.7.1. removed the track artwork from ALL 4 of them! The only workaround I could find is going to iTunesreferences, uncheck the "Display artwork on iPod" option, click OK, then go back and re-enable it. I wish I had an iTunes 4.7 CD or installer to revert back!

I don't have this problem. It works fine from the menu choice or with the command key.nlz said:I noticed iTunes 4.7.1 has broken Command-H (the "Hide iTunes" menu item). Does anyone else have this problem?

How do these things happen? Did someone unlink the action in Interface Builder without realizing it?![]()
iTunes is the only part of iLife that is also available for Windows. I'd bet money that iTunes development is handled by the music division and iLife is handled by the OS/Software team after the restructuring last year. The bundling of iTunes with iLife is more of a historical/convenience issue than an indication that iTunes updates are in synch with iLife development.swissmann said:Agreed.
