Seems a bit...Windows-y with all the tabs. Other than that, I quite like it. Very futuristic (I feel like I'm running like...[sorry for this comparison but it's the easieset one for me to make based on my computer history] Windows XP on some "high end" computer from 1996 while I have the iTunes 7 on my 12" PowerBook G4)

Wow...talk about slow

The iTunes Store is SLLLLOOOOOWWWWW!!!!

Dreadfully slow. It took all of a minute to open Safari, go to Macrumors, go to the iPod/iTunes discussion section, come to this thread, and get all the way up to the word "slow" in order for it to come up. :(

you can classify movies as tv shows and music videos now
apple-I will bring up information and then go video and you can choose what you want the file is

I noticed this as well. Very nice to see it working without having to use Lostify (which never worked for me under iTunes 6).

Why can't I use the alternate views when I'm just playing the music off of my iPod? I never ever use the library because my iPod is always plugged in (and usually I just drag stuff from Finder into my iPod, cutting out the middleman of the Library). What a disappointment!

I didn't see an option for this in Preferences. I'm assuming it's automatic.
Mark album and get info... ;)

It's still there. Just click the little triangle next to the connected iPod and you can see all of your songs, videos and everything (which is now broken up into categories.

re: gapless settings

Thanks! I'm still going through all of the screens and options... a lot of cool new changes.

I just found NIN "THE FRAGILE" album and tried that out and it's gapless, but if I select the album and look at the gapless setting, it's set to NO. But when it plays back, it works like it should.

I'll have to play with the options on some of these albums to see how the setting affects the songs.

Movies purchased from the iTunes Store can't be burned to a DVD or VCD that will play in a DVD player or Video CD.
Ya and Im sure you wont get the nice DVD extras either.

Nooooouuuuu!!!

I'll stick Leopard DVD in a shredder if thats what it ends up looking like. Apple just managed to bring the windows UI (looks like sony connect) into OS X. Thanks a lot. :(

Oh for the love of God I hope not.

Generally the layout is fine, but this thing (iTunes 7) looks absolutely FUGLY!

The scroll bars are a major salute to the XP era of Windows. By OS X standards, it's a quantum leap backwards, not forwards. And the control buttons just look cheap. Again, thats fine for XP - that's what XP users are accustomed to - but it's embarrassingly sub-par for OS X.

I can appreciate the interest in providing standardization across platforms, but these UI element changes, even though they don't impact usage, are completely unnecessary for OS X. This looks like a knock-off port of the Windows version of iTunes and not a native OS X application. The very thing Apple complained to Microsoft about regarding Office around version 6. You could write this sort of thing off if it was a third party app, but Jesus, this is Apple.

Major

BTW: Do Not Apply UNO with this Version (iTunes 7)

Well, the title says it all. I had to reinstall the app. I got the error "not enough memory" everytime I started iTunes.

So refrain from doing the same mistake and keep waiting for an upgrade of UNO.

So long...

iTunes Phone Driver

I've downloaded the dmg and the installer has a customize option. In it there is a greyed out option to install "iTunes Phone Driver"... is that just the Motorola Rokr driver?

i cant even get to the store....damn thing wont even connect, must be getting SLAMMED!

Pretty disappointing, although I was the ONLY PERSON on macrumors and apple insider to call the LAME GAME update, which doesn't even work on the current 5G iPOD Video (at least this is what I read somewhere earlier today). I would call that pointless.

Movies... eh... I will still be buying DVDs and pulling them on.

Do current video iPODs support the new movies and TV Show formats?

It was nice of them to show us that they are planning on having an iTV unit.

ugh... I gotta go teach... we'll talk later.

Coverflow has got to be the most visually appealing iTunes upgrade, but the least useful. Multiple libraries and automatic cover art are the two biggest features for me. Next, better Sound control... Does this version of iTunes have gapless playback?

It looks incredible, although the dark grey sliders are sort of hard to see. Very sleek and much less junky than 6. All the features are great if somewhat overdue. I like having movies, music and podcasts all separate.

Love the new look, though the icons suck.

Also wondering why iTunes doesn't recognize my audiobooks.

I noticed this too, and came to check this thread for someone mentioning it.
Jeej!

Not happy with it.

It keeps crashing every time I start playing a song. So, I'm updating the quick time in software update, and I am hoping this works.
