iTunes 7 installed just fine... gapless detection taking forever for about 4800 songs...

CD-TEXT option... YEAH!!! I never updated to 6.0.5, so I'm not sure if it is new... but new for me - FINALLY!

So we are not able to use that new cover art view when streaming over your home network I guess...tried it and the option is grayed out....oh well.

Note: itunes looks great...I don't know what some people are ramping about.

Bless

Again as I stated before... Apple is really starting to dabble in the 3D interface. The album art is a good example of this. Granted its a rip off of someone else's idea...No idea of the name of the app but I was playing around with it a few months back that did exactly this. *shrugs* Whatever. It makes me wonder if there is any serious GUI updates for 10.5 that we have yet to see.

Also, while looking for iTunes7 I read that v 6.0.5 could send audio to more than one set of remote speakers simultaneously. How do you do that?

If you have two different Airport Expresses, both with speakers attached, you can stream music to both at the same time. This isn't a new feature in 7.0.

As has been stated a million times today already, Apple bought out CoverFlow, they didn't rip anybody off.

It's not a rip off of anything. It IS that app. Apple bought it. It's in a post above somewhere. The company that originally developed it notes it on their website.

The album artwork retriever feature doesnt work that well. Gets some albums, some I didnt even know iTunes offered, yet ignores some of their best sellers like American Idiot and Demon Days!

Well, I love iTunes 7

Fantastic

the get album art is SICK

the album scroll view is SICK

the gapless playback is well you get the idea!

I love it!

Just put it on my PC at work, and it's awesome

I'm a little concerned about putting it on my Mac at home because of the massive 140 gig library that it will have to process...

Hopefully it goes well,

Wow.

Wow.

iTunes 7 fixes all of the idiotic interface inconsistencies and missing functionality.

Great additions to the interface. Good balance of usability and fun.

This is a fantastic update. One of the best application updates Apple has done in a long time.

Very clean overall.

Great job Apple. Simply great.

"Movies" - where are they?

Is it just me, or is the 'Movies' tab missing the majority of the videos that were in my iTunes Library...

Maybe they aren't technically "Movies" any more and that's why everyone is complaining about Apple forgetting to include a Music Videos section.

Do you mean CoverFlow? Yeah, its the same. And if by "rip off someone else's idea" you mean Apple bought CoverFlow and incorporated it into iTunes. This was already mentioned earlier in this thread, but here's a link: http://www.steelskies.com/coverflow/

BTW: The iTunes phone driver is for the Motorola ROKR E1, SLVR L7 and RAZR V3i.

Sure you can...

[I'll post a screen shot whenever attachments are back on-line]

Edit: There we are... :)

Took them long enough for gapless playback - I'm going to give it the Dark Side of the Moon and Moby Everything is Wrong Nonstop DJ Mix tests when I get home.

Anyone been playing with gapless so far? How do you like it?

Ugly, ugly duckling though - not the prettiest iTunes out there.

Agreed. iTunes 5 and 6 were a little 'meh' but I'm loving 7 so far.

iTunes now provides access to an "Album Artist" tag which should help keep those duets and other collaborations in line without having to declare them as compilations.

 Yes! Yes! Oh Yes! Baby! :D That's one of the things I would have killed for! Apple just saved someone else's life. :D

GRRR, iTunes grabs 700 MB of RAM on my PC as soon as it's opened. It releases it when it's closed, but my machine becomes pretty much useless when iTunes is open.
