Argh. You know those arrows in the song list that points to the appstore for that song you are listening too. It seems that you cant turn that stupid arrow of in iTunes 8. I am pretty sure there was an option in preferences to turn of those arrows in iTunes 7.

Also, the new visualizer is in 8.0.

NBC comes crawling back - HA!

Okay, I know it has been said before, but I just had to vent on NBC's decision to come back to iTunes. What a joke!!! Did they really think they were going to sell as much online video content with other services??? No way...it was just a matter of time before they saw their numbers drop and wonder why. Good thing I don't work for Apple bc I would have told them to kiss my ***. I won't be purchasing anything from NBC and simply continue to DVR it and burn it for my own use for free. Screw them.

Okay I feel better now....thanks.

I am really digging the new album grid layout.

Grid View seems nice, but they cut out list view with album covers, which I was a big fan of. If you go to "group albums" under view, you can get something similar, but I wish you could do this in list view as well. Bummer.

Aslo, does anybody see a settings menu for CD burning anywhere? It used to be under advanced, but now it's gone. They moved the import settings to the general tab, but the CD burning settings looks to have dropped off. It was nice to be able to make mp3 disks and the like right from iTunes if I wanted to... is this option gone?

Is that the only way to view music in iTunes 8, or can we still use the list view as we always have?

There is still list view - just playlists have album covers inline always (there are no covers in the standard lists). Pretty clever!

Of COURSE NBC is back! They were idiots to ever leave in the first place.

Yea, isn't that rich? NBC was so stupid to pull all their content from iTunes. Too late to come crawling back, most people are getting NBC's content elsewhere for free now.

NICE! There is a little arrow on the artwork column in list view - you can toggle the artwork in the list on and off, PURE WIN. This is why I love Apple, little things like this are great!

Pops up when you burn a new disc

Oh goddamn it. I'll just glue it to the side of my running shoes then, or weave it into the laces.

But that's just me. I never liked the meager selection of mediocre shoes Nike offered for that kit.

I use a Marware Sportsuit Sensor+ pouch to attach the sensor to my Asics, there are other solutions out there so you don't have to use Nike shoes.

iPod Remotes

Never noticed this previously:

With Remote you can control the iTunes music on your computer or Apple TV from your iPod touch or iPhone. Play, pause, skip, shuffle. See your songs, playlists, and album art. Update to iTunes 8, and you can create a Genius playlist or edit an existing playlist. And do it all on your iPod touch or iPhone as if you were right in front of your computer. Available on the App Store, Remote is free and works with your Wi-Fi network, so you can control playback from anywhere in and around your home.

Good catch, half of my problems are solved...

Now I just need to figure out where that CD burning settings pannel disappeared to :/ -Anyone?

i have to say the genius works pretty good. i found so many new songs i like already. and the visualizations are amazing as well! good job apple just need to see if we finally have MMS in the 2.1 iphone update. most likey not because if apple was going to put the last few basic features of a cell phone in, it would be there by now. idk how copy and paste is high on the list when we still dont have native MMS. i think that is more important!

I hate to be a Debbie Downer...but wasn't Zune's software just like this when it came out a few years ago? Before I made the "switch" I had a Zune (stop laughing) and vividly remember the grid layout and similar list view with the artwork on the side also. It looks great...but also similar.

That

Instead of - "$1.99 for Standard Definition episodes
- $2.99 for High Definition episodes"

There is also for free.
