iTunes 9 Released

i just got it. I noticed that when i clicked on "about iTunes" it brings up the normal iTunes 9 screen, and all the legal stuff starts scrolling. But what caught my eye, was that Blu-Ray came up. Interesting. I don't have a BR player, but there have been reports that iTunes 9 would have BR support built in....

That was there in iTunes 8.
 
servers are hammered, looks like Apple needs to get that server farm up and running in NC!
 
is it available for windows yet? i'm at work on a winbox... would love to test it out before i go home to my mac. argh! :)

Apple made a bad decision once again of not staggering the download based on geo-location and also not separating the download on different days. It's not just iTunes, it is also iPhone OS 3.1 and so on all at the same time.

Apple is in a league of it's own when it comes to hyping crap up, the Jesus hype machine isn't just a joke, it is really a real thing. Everybody practically knows that there was going to be something today and nobody cares if it is just some news about Steve Jobs taking a crap, they'll freak out and refresh every 5 sec to see him take a crap.

Add underemployment and that number jumps to 15% or more. I can't remember the latest number.

Is it me or is this version faster than iTunes 8? :O
Also, you can use VBR with 320 kbps, and I also see a "High Efficiency" setting on the AAC encoder
 
how the hell do you do home sharing.. nothing is showing up on either my macs

both were registered through itunes when it asked.. anyone know?
 
iTunes is still listed as 32 bit in Snow Leopard. Guess that Cocoa rewrite isn't here.
 
Is it 64bit?

Wow, you posted that at the same time as my post. Sad to find out it's only 32bit still. Oh well. It's not like it stops working if it's not 64bit.
 
Am I just being picky or does the new skin not fit in with the rest of the Finder theme?

Maybe they need to separate it from the Finder a little bit. It looks too much like a Finder window in 8.2. It needs to scream "media player" and not be confused with a regular old window.
