It is? I don't see it in the country list, or on Apple.com.au

Are you cheating by using the store ID?
Try flipping through countries in the pulldown until the cache gets kicked over. Australia will turn up eventually.

OK it's showing up now, but when I try to select it, it just jumps back to the US

Perhaps more importantly, can NZers buy from the Australian store? My guess would be Yes, since we can buy from store.apple.com.au.

Edit: Now it's giving me US pages, but seems to think it's set to Australia. It keeps giving me messages like "this item isn't available in the Australian store"

Is anyone able to verify whether it's accessible to New Zealanders? I'm on my work computer at the moment, so I can't try it.

I haven't tried it yet (need to borrow dad's credit card!) but if it works like QuickTime Pro and other "digital downloads", then you need to choose NSW for your state and 2000 for your postcode.

itssssss here

videos are @ $3.39
music seems to be @ 0.99 for top 100 billboard (error?) @1.69 for single songs
and 16.99 for albums

edit: turns out the .99 cents billboard songs are errors... can't seems to buy them

Finally. Looks like they launched without Sony/BMG... their loss. FMR and EMI Capitol and independents are there. No sign of TV shows though :-(

Just searching for various classic Aussie acts eg AC/DC and Hoodo Gurus. Only a couple of songs for each. You'd think if they had some they'd have them all.

Pretty cool though. Happy we finally got it. Also surprised they didn't wait til after the 9am press conference.

Unfortunately that rather flies in the face of the Terms of Sale:

AUSTRALIAN SALES ONLY
Purchases from the iTunes Music Store are available only in Australia. If you are not in Australia you may not use or attempt to use the service. iTunes may use technologies to verify such compliance.

Yep, that kind of thing seems to happen whenever they make a major iTMS update. It takes a while for the Akamai swervers to catch up with reality.

I just created an account!
WOOHOO!!!

I almost can't believe we finally have iTMS!
I think today could prove to be a dangerous day for my credit card to be at home!!!!

Ok so now it will be interesting to watch Sony BMG and see how long it takes them to come on board!
