To put this back on topic: Dan Warne of APC Magazine, will be providing live coverage of tomorrow's media event on APC's website.

Update - 4:55PM, Monday Sony BMG Australia says that it has been in negotiations with Apple for several years and is close to concluding the deal - though if Apple ‘goes live’ tomorrow, Sony BMG music won't be on sale. “We have been in continuing discussions with Apple and we hope to resolve the final points with them shortly,” said Emmanuel Candi, General Manager Business Strategy, Sony BMG Australia. This may point to an announcement by Apple tomorrow morning, with a slightly later launch date (e.g. October 31) to allow contract negotiations with Sony BMG to wrap up.

So now, back to ITMS in Australia... whoopee

well it does make a difference.
you lied to push your own agenda.
that really annoys me, far more than a person mentioning a site they are running.
there is a history of macrumors members posting about their own mac related forums.
and you accuse someone of a holier than thou attitude.
dude, take your agenda and sort it out elsewhere, either at appletalk or andrewag's site.

Yawn - you know what they say about arguing on the internet.

When does this event take place? Is it 9am? Hope this is it, not just getting two big wigs out to show off the new iPod to the media, if it is I'm gonna smash some heads.

Moving On....

What will be your first purchase if this ends up true?

I'm not sure what mine would be, probably some Aussie classic to ring in the new store, I'll have to see what's on offer though.

Well if they have Faker's album I might give that a go. Even if it is 128kbps.

Also, maybe they'll announce some new cricket podcasting deal, with Boonie promoting it. They could have him doing all the commentary and call it "BoonCasting." And you have to pay for it with VB??

What the ****, I'm tired. Move Along.

Enough already!

Can we forget about the whole other forums thing!
Start a new one (on another forum) that is relevant to your rants!

Have you noticed the ramping up of Msft ads?
And the mention of T*lstra and y*hoo attempting to spoil the Apple announcement?
If their products were so great, they would be in widespread use now.

Currently we have a lot of piracy.

And "exclusive" Missy Higgins!?! Yawn (I know, but it is my opinion)

But I think the little lady would probably prefer to have her creations sold to a wider audience.

The other music services know they don't hold much of a chance against ITMS. Like the iPod, it has the name. Like the machines that compete with the iPod, the other music services only compete with each other, in what is soon to be a small segment of the market.

That would imply I had an iPod

I'll stick to SACD's and DVD-A's for the time being.

I believe the success or failure of AiTMS will depend largely on the extent of its music liberary. and to it actually opening for business.

Opening for business would be a good start

There's 2 songs I know of that the artist is owed money for (borrowed from a friends cd)(no really, honestly)
So first I will settle that debt.
After that, hopefully some Cold Chisel
And probably some Gorillas. There's one song I like, but I'm not prepared to take a chance on a whole album.
...You mean I will have that choice!?!

Chisels....nice.....

Maybe some vintage Crowded House or Split Enz (yeah, they're Kiwi bands but hey, good's good ;))

Might check out a few videos if we can get some. There are some music videos that are classics, Fatboy Slim's Weapon of Choice and the one with the really bad dance troupe were awesome, a few others, Coldplay's The Scientist is cool too.

Our choices for TV shows will either be none (most likely) or crap (if we have TV shows available I can't think of any good ones).

Is anyone able to verify whether it's accessible to New Zealanders? I'm on my work computer at the moment, so I can't try it.
