The single benefit of iTunes is:

Availability. And it's obviously a big benefit to a lot of people which is good for Apple.

This is great news for Apple and for those of us who always buy stuff off iTS.
I personally do buy a song or two here and there, but I still prefer to purchase my CDs - mostly from Amazon or a local Best Buy store.
I like something feasible, that I can have as a back up without having to back up anything, and that can be played at its best quality on any sound system - without having to burn a cd or play through speakers, etc.
CDs for me are still a way to go, while the iTunes Store is a convenient way to purchase music.
