iTunes Countdown to 100 Million

I've bought about 10 songs in the last couple of weeks from iTunes...maybe I should have waited. ;) I know of another song that I will be buying soon...but I'll just have to wait until it gets a little bit closer to the 100,000 song mark.

Don't you have a better chance of winning if you download an entire album? When you get close, you cover the range of 16 or 17 songs in one swing, and the 100,000 could be in your 16 song purchase. :rolleyes:
 
Make sure to enter your shopping carts early, mine is taking some time to load... grrr.
 
Crossed at 15:20 with 95,200,461 songs sold.

Edit: Sales per minute spiked to about 550 as it approached 95.2 million.

They don't send out the confermation info for around 3 days, so even if you get an email right then, it dosn't mean you won. Sorry.
 
I can just see how this is going to be a stupidly long thread by the time the 100 millionth song is given away, what with people posting every single little update! ;) :p
 
I agree. I wish they would tell you what number yo were so at least you could try to time it better next time.

What an ingenius promo, though. I wonder when it gets to the point that people only start to buy at the 100,000's... then no one buys in between, so the whole thing just stops. reality. :rolleyes:

Yeah, really. Apple is obviously keeping a tally; they should include the number of your purchase(s) within the emailed receipt. Seems like information that a lot of people would find interesting. At least I would.

Yeah, but at least it has a purpose. It is basically a counting thread, but it is sure better than those spamming threads at Spymac. What thread has the most number of posts/views?

That would be cool if someone on MacRumors won. It may not seem like much of a possibility to some, but there's still plenty of time left.

So what's the average time that it takes to sell a hundred thousand songs at this point?

Oh, and for the record, I was just making an observation and having some fun, not trying slam this thread or anything - just wanted to clarify. ;)
