HD Video projector

HD video projector is the way to go.

No big displays/tv's from Apple, just a small mac mini form device.
It's big for consumers in the livingroom, bedroom etc.
Video out on your iPod, buying on iTMS.

Companies, easy to carry with you, with your powerbook and Keynote software.

Wifi on the projector, dvd disk in your mac and stream it to the projector.
Also the movies you stream from the iTMS store.

Bluetooth speakers for sound, internal battery.
(also nice in combination for the new iPod with bluetooth)

Remote controls the beamer, speakers and the computer.
The complete home system without topset boxes.

Also this special event is always for consumers!
So the curtains tell enough. (same with the jeans-pocket on the iPod nano card)

Circuit City Commercial Sighting?

Has anyone seen that commercial for Circuit City that appears to show a black full sized iPod with a white click wheel? May have been edited, but not sure why they would do that.

bunch of hot air?

ok, wednesday will be the day of truth as far as the usefulness of rumorsites is concerned.

after reading at several rumor sights about 'insiders' that have claimed to see a video ipod, and the BBC supposedly mentioning 'by accident' about the imminent ipod video release, i would say the the non-appearance of this elusive product would make rumor site look pretty sorry....

anybody keeping track of the 'updated' mac mini that was supposed to be released 2 weeks ago.... nothing in sight there either.....

ipod schmipod...

Some of us need new PowerMacs, like the working professionals of the world...and think an event is worthy of noting Powermac releases. You unemployed, slacker, drug addicted ipod users are no help to anyone!!!! And yes sometimes I am too objective.

I think you're mistaken, and are visiting the wrong website by accident - this is MacRumors, not MacFacts. We talk about rumors here - there's no guarantee whether they'll be right or not, and it would be naive to put any stock in anything that's mentioned whatsoever! :p

Go Listen to the TWiT Podcast on iTunes Episode 26 (Yesterday's) and they'll talk about this event. They think it might be an Intel Mac.

Doubtful - developers have hardly had a chance to write any Intel-optimized code yet, as it's only been 3-4 months since the initial announcement. I think Apple would wait a little longer (i.e. MWSF) before releasing anything Intel.

If something was to go Intel though, it would probably be the PowerBooks, but I personally don't see that happening because of Yonah.

With so many other viable rumors out there as to what this could be, I think Intel machines are pretty much at the bottom of the scale as far as likelihood goes.

Thanks be to God, that we can all stop speculating in about 48 hours. It seems like this event was announced more than a week ago, w/ all the activity surrounding it.

I wouldn't pass this off to quickly..All developers are under a STRICT NDA.And didn't Jobs say the most extensive app would take 2-3 months to make Intel-ready ?

Like I've said before I'd be willing to bet Office for the Mac has been compiled for Intel ever since OSX was..

I have my doubts that Apple shares that much information with Microsoft. The only way I could see an Intel Mac being released this soon is if there was a G4 or G5 chip in there as well to operate as a coprocessor for anything that required altivec. This seems like a very expensive route, however, and it's more likely that we'll simply have to wait till next June.

Agreed - no Intel Macs until 2006. The earliest I see things happening is an announcement at MWSF, with a shipping date on the first Intel Mac a few months later. But even that's pushing it - as you say, consumers will probably have to wait until June 2006 before they have an Intel Mac in their hands.

That may be,however Apple has to be sharing that info with M$ now because M$ said office would support the Intel. What's M$ gonna do.Wait till the last second to build it for the Mactel ?

Thanks, but this is old news now. Just read through the other threads. :p ;)
ok i give up on apple and these stupid events. just reveal the dam things and get it over with. why and who thought of making everyone wait til oct 12? and who ever that person is why schedule all these events on a wednesday? if i found this person i think i would smack them across the face or something and say no more wednesdays make it mondays or something. see if it they did these things on mondays its in the beginning of the work week and when the reveal a new ipod or something people have soemething to be excited or look foward to getting through out the week. so finnaly when it comes to the weekend they get their new ipod or w/e it is that is released. i mean wednesday. theres no importance of wednesday except it being in the middle of the work week and people just want the week to end. nobody wants to wait and be excited til wednesdays. people want new products now. well w/e

AppleInsider has pretty much kept their mouth's shut since the 6th....... Think Secret has been going all over the board w/ Rumors this weekend. Maybe Apple Insider knows something and won't let us know until the night before the event.

Ah, come on, it's all part of the fun of being Mac user! You don't see PC users getting all excited about such things! ;) :)

Not to cause dissention but some PC users already have some of these things..

They already have highly anticipated events where invitations with red curtains are sent out, causing all sorts of media hype, as well as faithful users to get excited and speculate to no end about new updates? Hmm, news to me... :p ;)

Their forums were down for a couple of days....weird. They are back up now.....maybe someone posted the real info and Apple told them to shut it down and clean it up. ;) They just posted a new blurb about a possible Madonna Nano.

I hope TS is wrong, but they are usually spot on. I am pulling for podfuture's prediction and hope he/she gets it right.
