iTunes in the cloud - Belgium

I've got my iTunes in the cloud now in Belgium. It should also be available in The Neatherlands then I guess?

Hey,

It works (iTunes i/t cloud) on my iPhone, but not on my iPad... (no "purchased" icon).

Any idea??

Alvast bedankt!

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_0_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9A405 Safari/7534.48.3)

What advantage does this have over my ripping my own 256k songs from CD and transferring to iPhone?

Has anyone signed up who had a MobileMe account? I was under the impression we would get it free for a while until our subscriptions expire but looks like I got charged.....

I never heard that. We do get an extra 20gb of icloud storage until June I think.

Cool, I may live here and speak some but written German is beyond me (along with the whole Der, Die, Das ... I may remember the verb is supposed to go second, or last, but I don't always manage to do it ...)

Most Germans don't get English either, so never mind. ;-)

you will get extra space.. when you log in check the space or storage amount you will see that you got more then the 5 gigs

What happens if you have 45,000 songs in your iTunes library and it's mostly underground music and it's 350GB? Would you turn on iTunes match in this case?

The extra allowance is for iCloud not Itunes Match. If your Mobile Me account was still valid when they announced the free upgrade you will have be upgraded with the extra 20GB -

Yes I have mobile me, and yes I got charged the €24.99 for iTunes Match.

I never heard anything about getting it free whilst our MobileMe subscriptions are still in effect.

I just hope they come out with a MobileMe gallery for iCloud and some form of iDisk type access before June and charge us a little extra for the features and I won't be hurting fom losing MobileMe as much.

Please Sign In Again

iTunes Match has encountered an error. Please choose Sign Out and then Sign In from the iTunes menu and try again.

I have paid for iTunes Match and accepted the new terms, but I keep getting the above error message. Anyone in the UK getting any joy with this?

same here - bit frustrating

iTunes Match isn't for you.

If most of your music is available on iTunes but you got it first on CD and ripped it or attained your music via other ways, then iTunes Match was designed for you. If most of your music is stuff that you can't find anywhere else, I think you're better off carrying around an iPod Classic.

Got it working!

I thought what someone else said about it being cached made sense. So I changed my DNS servers to OpenDNS... nothing.

Then I thought about clearing the cache for the browser, guessing that iTunes uses the Safari engine (on mac), I wiped my cache for safari, restarted iTunes, had to login to everything again, restarted the match... and no error!

:) Might be worth a try? http://cl.ly/07382a3K3t1T0U1Z242P

working in canada. now if i had gotten an email this morning that because i signed up last night and it wasn't available internationally, that they were going to refund my 27.99, i wonder if i will get my money and still be able to use iTunes match :O we'll see :)

Just to help some of you out, I was having the same sign-in/sign-out problem. Without changing anything I connected up to a US based VPN (using tunnelbear.com) and it worked first time.

Either it's taking a while for the content to spread round Apple's cache, or the UK based servers are overloaded. Either way, using a US VPN got me up and running within seconds.

Now for a couple of quick questions. My library has 24,285 songs in it. Is the 25,000 song limit only for songs not available on iTunes or not purchased from iTunes? And if I sync all 24,825 just now, is there a way to remove some over the course of the next year as I add other music that I would like to sync whilst still keeping below the 25,000 limit? Ie, can I actively choose what is and isn't synced to iCloud through Match?

Aw... I really had high hopes for your theory! Tried it but unfortunately, it didn't happen :(

I honestly think it's a caching issue somewhere... which explains why it's suddenly just working for people. Perhaps theres a cache between you and apple?

Had the same login problems until I used Onyx to have a good clear out. Now works for me in the UK

You are a flipping genius! Thank you - it's now working. FINALLY! Also, great shout with TunnelBear, works like a charm!

Having tried for the last hour to get iTunes Match working, I found that swapping to use Google DNS servers (8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4) worked for me first time.

is it happening to anyone else that iTunes match is freezing on one song even if you restart the process and/or restart iTunes? ... which sucks because it doesn't tell you what song or else i'd just delete it...idk whats going on :/
UPDATE: just had to wait a long time, but what a rip! 731/1183 songs matched? WTF?

How does matching work??

Acoustic fingerprint??

or only ID3 TAGS of mp3???

if it is only tags it is very poor matching.....
