6 is actually my favorite, but 2-5 are all tied for 2nd for me
And you could see if it was a winner without opening it. Good times at 7 elevenDon't forget free songs on almost every Pepsi cap.
I've lost tracks because of this. In fact my wife has an iPod Nano with iTunes music on it that we can't play anywhere else because it is DRMed. Even when we transfer it to a computer, the tracks won't play because she doesn't know the account that they were purchased under. Talked to Apple support about it and they were pretty much like, sorry can't really help.I remember this vividly and loved it. It was a sea-change in how we listened to music. But unlike streaming, everyone still had their own collections, and we'd still go over to someone's place to listen to new music, taking it all in together. It seemed magical.
Now, a gripe: Apple needs to give us a way to transfer our purchased music to a new or different account. If we paid for something, we should be able to relinquish our ownership interest and give it to a different Apple ID. As things currently stand, that purchased music is tied to the Apple ID you had twenty years ago, and that's not good.
Nostalgia! Sometimes I miss how iTunes used to look on OSX.
At least they are bringing some sort of depth back to MacOS.....ehhh somewhat. I would appreciate it if Apple would just put the MacOS icons on iOS for this next update.I really enjoyed the "Aqua" look back then. Everything seems to be flat with rounded rectangles these days. Aka boring.
Yea but songs aren't 99¢ anymore.
$0.99 is $1.62 in todays money, so still a good deal at $1.29 (I also see a lot of $0.99 at times that I buy). That would be incorrect.
There are songs that go on sale for 99¢ at various times. Currently there is a sale for "alternative" hits at 69¢.
I often buy songs from those sales if something catches my eye. So not everything is the current $1.29 price.
Yeahhh I very much miss when Apple apps had colors to them and wasn't just monochromatic. I think they forget how giving individual icons colors actually can be great for usability and quickly finding what you're looking for.Nostalgia! Sometimes I miss how iTunes used to look on OSX.
When I tell people that I still buy my music, I get laughed at.
Obviously it's everyone's choice, but my rationale - that I would have to buy as much music as the cost of a streaming service to justify Apple Music, which would be about 10 tracks a month - makes sense unless you're willing to treat music as one customisable radio station that you don't own.
Most of my music has come from 0.99 purchases (about 2 or 3 a month from what I've Shazammed) and CDs.
As an -- ahem -- older person, I really appreciate being able to easily keep up with new music and not fall into the trap of never moving beyond what my tastes were when I was in high school. What you appreciate about Apple Music is exactly what makes this easy. (That said: Depeche Mode, The Cure, and New Order are on the agenda this year; it may as well be 1989 again!)What I like about Apple Music is that it's all you can eat, in any genre, on any device. Well worth the price.
Damn, time flies. These were exciting times. I never forgot how great were live Keynotes by Steve. The anticipation and his delivery were the best.
I know this an unpopular opinion, but I really like the newer flat style designs. I would go with the last one.Voting time! Which one is your favorite iTunes Logo? 🎵
Oh definitely. The person I was replying to was using the 99¢ pricepoint to say they would need to buy 10 songs a month.$0.99 is $1.62 in todays money, so still a good deal at $1.29 (I also see a lot of $0.99 at times that I buy).
anything in the top row, bottom row garbage design and garbage version of iTunes. the 3rd and 5th look nice.
I think the main thing different with Steve was that he knew what to do with his hands when he was talking and he didn't sound like he was reading a script. On the current Apple release videos, I'm completely distracted by their awkward hand movements and their script-reading delivery.Damn, time flies. These were exciting times. I never forgot how great were live Keynotes by Steve. The anticipation and his delivery were the best.
