I was thinking angry birds would have made game of the year the way people talk about it all the time. I'm really surprised not to see spider which remains one of my all time favorites.

It's a "best of" list. It will be rated down by everyone who doesn't agree with the list results. Especially the people who hate what was chosen.

What's the point of "best of" lists to begin with. They really aren't what's the best of a given group of whatever. They are what the people who wrote the list think is best. What makes their opinion any more "correct" than the thousands of people who are reading it?

Usually these types of "looking back at the last year" lists are more the style of lazy journalists and television personalities.

So what??? Why would that annoy anyone? This forum is ridiculous, my gosh, you don't agree with the list so you vote it negative? I can see if this article was found to be offensive or if was offering content that would negatively impact people on how they use their devices but come on... I guess your choices and my choices and their choices and his choices and her choices should all be voted negative as we all have different tastes in apps.

Cut The Rope is the best game.

Here's my 10 cents on games

I've tried the Osmos demo, and I don't like it, seems boring to me.Same for Angry Birds.

Cut The Rope I think is a great game because it keeps ya thinking as it gets more difficult.

Paper Toss is just good silly fun/

Vector Blocks is also a good one I go back to again and again.

TanZen drives me crazy 'cause I just wanna be able to do every pattern...

What's wrong with all the people adoring that pvz, it's just a normal defense game. Angry birds or cut the rope offer something new. Wake up, suckers...

Agreed. Angry Birds and Cut The Rope are much better games. Actual strategy is involved, and the replay value (to get a higher score or 3 stars) is excellent on both games.

PvZ isn't very challenging.....just plop down some plants as fast as you can, and that's it. I don't get the excitement over it. Fortunately, I bought PvZ when it was on sale for 99¢, so no big loss.

Think of it as Agree/Disagree. Many people don't agree with the list.

Hipstamatic - You love it or you hate it.
Plants vs. Zombies - Ok choice, but the iPhone version is dumbed down compared to other versions. RD support would have helped.
Flipboard - Great concept, but still a bit of a work in progress.
Osmos for iPad - fun but very basic game that lacks longevity.

It's funny because Osmos sit at number 196 (out of 200) on AppShopper Web site! :p

Call me strange but i get more fun out of PVZ than i do angry birds. I feel angry birds is more trial and error more than anything. Both are good games though and have made their developers lots of money

Why is this story getting so many negative reviews?

Because when anyone is silly or big headed enough to claim knowing the best of anything then they will get flamed.

For instance....Eminem...artist of the year!
Might be HipHop artist of the year but overall artist...please

Why is this story getting so many negative reviews?

Because when someone or some group claims something is the best the odds are that the majority of people will disagree with that.

I can say The Godfather is the best movie of all time (or Citizen Kane or any other classic) and the majority of people will disagree with that. Or The Beatles are the best band or Angry Birds is the best iPad game.

And people are very thin-skinned and hate to have their opinion contradicted so they vote negative.

People are lame that way. It's like they see a best of the year column and don't take it for the light, fun thing that it is.
