The Beatles will not be part of this. There is a new Beatles store that went up yesterday.

http://www.beatles.com/hub/store_selector.html

US Store is up:http://www.fanfire.com/cgi-bin/WebO...tist?artistName=Beatles.com&sourceCode=BEAWEB

UK Store not ready

It is interesting that the store is using a WebObjects front

Yes, it is, and the timing of the store is interesting too if it was yesterday that it went live. Maybe Apple Computer and Steve offered to create the Beatles' online store (with CDs included among other things) in return for Apple Corps allowing some or all of the Beatles catalogue to be sold on iTunes?

Engadget have just reported that Woz is there. Woz!! When was the last time he was at an Apple Event. Maybe we'll finally get a mention about Apple's recent birthday (Ltd Mac?)

On a related note, Unbox doesn't seem be an instant hit, unsurpringly. Are we really ready for this movie download thing? I'm not sure that we are. Would like to see the widescreen ipod, though ;)

So i'm kind of back into the music store. I had been looking at movie trailers before the store went down. So i hit the back button just now and i can see the trailers again. However, it's not just cached stuff; i clicked on a few trailers that i hadn't previously viewed and it let me in. i'll keep poking around and see if i can find anything...

Ooo a spy amongst us! excellent!
Keep us posted!

I just plugged in my nano and it says a software update is available!
It is completly up to date, i havent missed one. The update window appeared, then almost instantly dissapeared, my Mac's not recognizing my ipod anymore!
(trying again!)

It won't be nearly as popular as music downloading, but if Apple can ensure that their servers are fast enough for it not to take all night to download a movie, then there is no harm in getting in there early.

Do you know that for sure? I'm not saying it will happen but your rather large bold text is not really necessary.

It's an inside-thread joke.

Well, sure. One thing's for certain, though: pricing will be key.

Has anyone seen this Beatles' store? They have Beatles salt and pepper shakers.
Pretty bloody humiliating.

When was the last time you plugged it in?

At least yesterday at 1.30pm, I do a run everyday and sync it in every day ;)

But i tried again and it didn't say it needed updating, so still 1.2

I'm try try trying again though...

If you look it ends up taking you to fanfire.com, which sells products for a variety of artists. So there isn't any link, connection, no nothing about the Beatle shop and Apple.

Unless you are suggesting there is something in the fact that Barbra Streisand and Rod Stewart both have Web Objects shops as well.

Lol Keep trying until you get an update. It's bound to work at some point. :D

404

I'm getting the 404 message again (as opposed to live broadcast paused) for that Special Event Stream. I really hope it works in 24 minutes! PS: Everything on the inside of the itms was missing except for movie trailers.

Pretty bloody humiliating.

Almost as embarrassing as Johnny Cash's family waiting until he's dead so they can sell off perhaps his most defining song to Nike for their commercials for crappy trainers

T-24 minutes and counting...

I totally forgot about the possibility of Beatles on iTunes. The more I think about it, the more I am hopeful for this! And the fact that their website is using WebObjects means nothing. Or does it...

I thougth for sure that Steve was going to announce Beatles 2 or 3 events ago as they were playing the Beatles prior to the beginning of the event. No such luck...
