Ready to go. Had to switch back to AT&T in order to continue. Wish apple would allow truly unlocked without selecting a carrier for iUP

I'm looking to upgrade to the 16PM I guess (I don't see any big upgrades this year truth be told). Will I be charge for the 15PM payment if it supposed to charge me after the 16PM launches? Looks like according to Citizens website, I don't have a payment due? Is that correct? I think last year I got charge before the new iPhone launched, and I had to wait forever to get a refund. Just wanna know before hand this time.

Got my Pro Max 16 512 in Titanium Black preordered. Only hard pull I’ve had was the first IUP to join back in 2015. I only remember because I had to address the hard pull on my mortgage loan application.

No hard pull this time around, but I’ve also used the same credit card.

Easy process. I have a "Fraud Alert" set on my credit reports, thanks Mr. Cooper data breech, and immediately got an text from Citizens asking if it was legit. Simply hit "yes" and was all set.

Anobody have any opinions on the iUP vs Apple Card Installments? I’m the type that get the iPhone every single year.
I used to use Citizen's IUP for upgrades every year but 5 years ago stopped it.

It's nice to have the IUP offer a new phone every year but I thought the mandatory AppleCare+ is a bit much for a phone that's under standard warranty for a year then getting another.

Past 5 years using Apple Card - 24 months 0% is perfect as I upgrade every other year now.
Plus the 3% cash back is nice.
$30 back is always a nice discount.

This year my 14+ is going to my wife who has the 12PM.

So I just went ahead and “got ready”. Unless I’m missing something, it looks like getting AppleCare+ isn’t a requirement for iUP anymore because the price was the exact same for both. Ended up going with iUP because I don’t want the balance to be withheld from my available credit.

Two main differences. You are locking in trade in price with iup vs what might be offered and required to get AppleCare vs don’t want. Otherwise no difference.

Just looked. Price different because of AppleCare.

So I just looked again, and now I’m confused. There’s the Apple iPhone Payments financing thru Citizens One that doesn’t require AppleCare+ and then there’s also the Apple iPhone Upgrade Program that does. I guess I was mistaken. Now I’m annoyed cause I already got pre approved for the iPhone Payments and have the credit hit.

Their servers might be slammed with people all trying at the same time. I'd just retry later as a first step.
Yeah, I thought so, but called Apple and Citizens and both our phones are marked as purchased cash. Not IUP. Citizens has no idea and will check with Apple to get things hooked together again. Not exactly gonna be a rush this year so I think they will fix it in time. Thanks for the response!

One comment on the AppleCare is that we travel a lot and upgraded the AC to the loss version so we could get a quick replacement overseas etc. Just something to think about. At home, yeah, AC+ may be excessive.

Wow, that's a new one. Good luck getting it fixed.

Anyone having problems with the pre-pre order process?

I select "I am already enrolled," and then once I login and it validates that I am eligible for an upgrade, it drops me back on the purchase page but at the Payment Options section where I'm prompted to start the validating process over again.

So this is my first time getting approved for the iphone upgrade program, I selected the apple care+, then realized it wasn’t mandatory like before. I chatted with apple to change it back to avoid another credit check, but they just pushed back saying that it is mandatory.

I deleted it and started over without selecting apple care+ and got pre-approved again without another credit check. I wonder if there will be any issues, I’m at $22.87/mo.

mine is saying i have a balance even though i don’t ….. it’s weird
Where do you see That? I have not Made 12 payments on the phone I’m trading in. Will it show what I owe to upgrade Friday at checkout? I already got the preapproval and am good to go but not sure if I should try and pay ahead of time.

how can I upgrade a family members iphone who is on the upgrade program but not physically at my location for me to order it for them?

can I do it on the website with their apple ID?

If we got the preorder ready to go and preapproved, then do we need to unfreeze or was it a soft pull?
I’m not sure of your particular situation but I was preapproved (iPhone 14 Pro Max) without unfreezing but when they went to ship, the actual approval failed due to my credit being frozen. I unfroze and they attempted again then the approval was successful. This year‘s process could be different but that was my experience In the past.

I'm still stuck in this cycle -- both in the Apple Store app on my phone and in Safari on my computer -- where I select the IUP, say that I'm already a member, go through the eligibility validation, and get put back on the screen at the purchasing option screen, where I select the IUP and start the whole process over again.
