I think its going to be quite scary walking into a room and everyone is wearing the iwatch. No individualism at all

Why in the world would motion/blood pressure/etc require using any cellular data at all?

Money. Burn data can lead to iPhone users slipping into a higher tier. Higher tiers = more money for cell service partners. Cell service partners pay the subsidy so that iPhones can appear to be sold for $199* or $99* or free*.

Logically, there's no good reason. But greed and logic often collide.

At WWDC, part of the health app presentation talked about the idea of sending your monitored health info to your Doctor. How does that get sent?

Why does Handoff have to persist a call shifted to the Mac by still burning iPhone voice/data? Why not just shift a call to wifi/wired internet attached to that Mac?

Again, I increasingly think it's more and more about burning data… trying to get users to cross into higher tiers to make subsidy-paying cell service partners happy. What does Siri, iRadio, Maps, Face Time, iCloud, iTunes Match, etc and now Handoff all have in common?

I just hope apple allows you to try on the different sizes at the store so you know which size order.

It's entirely possible that one or more of these various vague watch rumors are true.

And Tim Cook said Apple was going to double down on secrecy!

Finally, the floodgates have opened for real information about the iWatch! I'm excited about the invitations. I wonder when they'll be sent out, but mostly I wonder about what hints they'll put into it if any.

They're all out to get your money.

If your grandmother calls you from her rotary dial land line and you hand off the phone call to your Mac, why can't Apple send a courier to her house to install free broadband service and then negotiate with her phone company to transfer the call to an free IP call. All done seamlessly. It's because Apple is too greedy to do it, and they're in bed with grandma's phone company. And with yours (it's a three-way.) Obviously.

This is the best looking one I've seen so far... minus the white band. White just gets dirty... everyone knows that.

They can all be handled over wifi.

FaceTime audio was apples entry point to de-leveraging the control carriers have.

Wait, let me get this straight.

Because the Motorola watch looks like a conventional watch, doesn't scream "Look at me I'm a ~smart watch~!", and has more functionality - you'd want to buy a normal watch? I'd much prefer a simple, classic design similar to my Timex: http://i.imgur.com/vmFYTH8.jpg

If it's a case of "It won't last as long!" I'd disagree; my smart phones have lasted far longer than most of my conventional watches.

Alternatively, you might just be deriding simply because it doesn't say "Apple" in place of "Motorola".

Yeah..... No.
I'm thinking more Rolex and Patek Philippe.

If it's going to cost several THOUSAND dollars/pounds, like it was reported a few months back, then i would be very disappointed :( I think Apple can innovate and make a brilliant product, yes Smart watches are already out and about, but they don't have the functionality or the appeal that i think Apple can do.

If the rumors posted today regarding its ability to monitor blood glucose is accurate, (technology that does not exist today - monitoring blood glucose levels non invasively), than a $3,000 price tag is not shocking, especially considering that having it classified as a medical device might make it eligible for medicare reimbursement and possibly commercial medical insurance as well.

I hope apple continuity feature will be part of iwatch. Look at the iwatch screen quickly to decide if you need to pull your iPhone out of the bag/pocket to answer that call, text or email? Plus this should allow to utilize iPhone data capabilities without adding too many radios/cellular subscriptions.

That's true, but what about us in the UK? we don't have health insurance we have the NHS, so to have a price tag of £3,000 or over would kind of ensure not many people in the UK would buy it. I want too buy it, but £3,000 would be a ridiculous price, here in the UK you could get a Good spec Mac for that price.

Overpriced, gaudy, status symbols - got it.

Might I interest you in a Vertu phone?

Hey look it's your calculator watch telling you that you are late to your cashier shift!
Better get back to your job so you can save up for your Motorola watch

I hope this thing doesn't end up being so expensive from these sensors that it would only be worth it to diabetics or other people with blood pressure or blood glucose problems. All these things are useless to me. And no, I don't need a graph of my heart rate over the day, as cool as that would be.

why do you want an iWatch for if you are not interested in health data?

Watching Google and SamSung reminds me of when it was announced at our community pool that a professional diver would be diving later that afternoon. So immediately all the little kids were crowding onto the diving board trying to dive like a pro.

As long as the iWatch is waterproof I am all over it.
If it isn't, no thanks.

Last thing I want is a gadget to break because I might forget to take it of when washing hands, taking a shower or going for a swim.
By the way, we swimmers need something to track our activities. I hope Apple can come up with something cool.

Wouldn't it just be better to put a pic of a hot dog on these iWatch posts instead of a horrible mock-up, an android mess, or a graphic taped to a guys arm? Less is more.
