This picture will haunt MacRumors forever...
I think its going to be quite scary walking into a room and everyone is wearing the iwatch. No individualism at all
Why in the world would motion/blood pressure/etc require using any cellular data at all?![]()
Money. ...
Why does Handoff have to persist a call shifted to the Mac by still burning iPhone voice/data? Why not just shift a call to wifi/wired internet attached to that Mac?
Again, I increasingly think it's more and more about burning data trying to get users to cross into higher tiers to make subsidy-paying cell service partners happy. What does Siri, iRadio, Maps, Face Time, iCloud, iTunes Match, etc and now Handoff all have in common?
Multiple sizes or multiple styles? I'd love to see more than one watch design at launch. That would be bold.
They can all be handled over wifi.Money. Burn data can lead to iPhone users slipping into a higher tier. Higher tiers = more money for cell service partners. Cell service partners pay the subsidy so that iPhones can appear to be sold for $199* or $99* or free*.
Logically, there's no good reason. But greed and logic often collide.
At WWDC, part of the health app presentation talked about the idea of sending your monitored health info to your Doctor. How does that get sent?

Wait, let me get this straight.
Because the Motorola watch looks like a conventional watch, doesn't scream "Look at me I'm a ~smart watch~!", and has more functionality - you'd want to buy a normal watch? I'd much prefer a simple, classic design similar to my Timex: http://i.imgur.com/vmFYTH8.jpg
If it's a case of "It won't last as long!" I'd disagree; my smart phones have lasted far longer than most of my conventional watches.
Alternatively, you might just be deriding simply because it doesn't say "Apple" in place of "Motorola".
If it's going to cost several THOUSAND dollars/pounds, like it was reported a few months back, then i would be very disappointedI think Apple can innovate and make a brilliant product, yes Smart watches are already out and about, but they don't have the functionality or the appeal that i think Apple can do.
Yeah..... No.
I'm thinking more Rolex and Patek Philippe.
If the rumors posted today regarding its ability to monitor blood glucose is accurate, (technology that does not exist today - monitoring blood glucose levels non invasively), than a $3,000 price tag is not shocking, especially considering that having it classified as a medical device might make it eligible for medicare reimbursement and possibly commercial medical insurance as well.
Overpriced, gaudy, status symbols - got it.
Might I interest you in a Vertu phone?
I hope this thing doesn't end up being so expensive from these sensors that it would only be worth it to diabetics or other people with blood pressure or blood glucose problems. All these things are useless to me. And no, I don't need a graph of my heart rate over the day, as cool as that would be.
