The Moto 360 doesn't look nearly as good in real life as those concept shots.
It is pretty ugly actually.

Why does the sliver band look thicker on one side than the other? I'm not crazy about the gap between the watch face and the leather band. Hopefully this is just an unfinished prototype.

I'll probably end up getting one if I like the looks of it. But def not the first generation.

Well...

Why haven't there been any iwatch leaks?

Because like the original iPhone, Apple did keep it under wraps. TC was not kidding about doubling down on security...but it is selective. There has been NO image, NO mockup, no nothing about the iWatch. On the other hand, I believe Apple allows 'leaks' about the iPhone 6 so as to drum up interest in a very crowded smartphone space. Remember, no company, repeat, NO COMPANY does marketing better than Apple. And mini leaks are part of it for existing products but in new technology, they are better than anyone in keeping their collective mouths shut until the right time to maximize buzz and sales.

Though I hate wearing anything on my wrist and have no intention of buying such as device because of that fact, Apple will sell 100Ms of these.

I love leather watch straps but if it is going to be used for fitness I don't think they will go with leather.

Wow, that watch is ugly!

Well done as you have just demonstrated the problem with the whole watch concept.

It's about fashion. It's one of the few items of "body decoration" that many men will ever wear. A personal statement about what you like.

Be it a Casio or a Rolex.

Branded or Unbranded.

Some want a genuinely classic looking dress watch which swaps electronics and a screen for whats in the case.

Others want a full Dick Tracy touch screen device that does everything.

Others may just want something like the Nike Band for health.

You go to a jewelry store and see a whole window full or watches in all prices and styles and features.

Are you going to to to the Apple store and see one watch?

I really can't understand why that mockup is being used so much. There is no way it will look like that. The traditional watch design makes no sense for a smart watch.

Hopefully more like this...

I usually don't like most design concepts/renders done but that one in the article I have really liked since I first saw it. It is definitely something I could see myself wearing.

The Moto 360 won't be released until "Summer 2014", but there are some out in the wild already.

Ahhh, so you are making assertions on it's aesthetic appeal based on something that is not finished and not on the market yet then. Gotcha...

I really like the concept images of a more traditional leather bound watch with a round, interactive face. It's super nice and a leap ahead the current 'norm' in smart watches.

A little worried that this article mentions "small" quantities. I'm hoping Apple will have sufficient stock to satisfy demand. Although I imagine the demand won't be quite as high as a new iPhone (although a reasonable price would help), I can still see lots of people wanting to get their hands on one as soon as possible.

I can't say I'm a fan of this concept. The screen looks a little awkward, but definitely bigger than the one in the article.

Moto's the one happily showing this off. Just the other day The Verge ran a huge puff piece on it. Just like they ran a piece on it when Android Wear was announced, saying it was the most beautiful smartwatch ever.

Why do people think a smartwatch has to look like a watch? Does a smartphone look like a rotary phone or a flip phone? No.

I hope they do not do an LCD screen. I hope the watch is something traditional-looking but loaded with tech on the inside.

Why do so many comment on how the watch looks when no one has yet seen what it will look like? All we've seen is how clueless people think it might look. These posts are a total waste.

I'm a big fanboy too, but I usually wait until I see and know what the product is and does before I say I want it.

Me too, I probably wouldn't even use any of the other features but just enjoy the watch as ...watch. I'm probably not a good customer for smart watch companies :D

Tick tock

I can't see the 'iWatch' looking anything like these concepts. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if it's not called iWatch at all. I'm hoping more for something that can be worn alongside my already extremely nice Swiss watch without it looking like I'm wearing two watches.

I heard that insiders at Apple are sick of all the questions concerning this iWatch rumor. There is no iWatch. Apple is not working on a watch.

Now, if that is true. It would be amazing if all these other companies rushed their supposedly smart watches to market in anticipation of Apple doing so.

Apple is will be doing something wearable, but it will not be a "watch." It's unbelievable how so many people can be totally faked out by the "iWatch" rumors.

Well, there were virtually no leaks before the iPhone and iPad were announced, so I'm optimistic.

Incorrect. iPad was leaked just days before it's debut announcement. A chinese site posted a picture of an ipad secured to a workbench with a beta of Google Maps running.

I'm aware of the leak (which occurred 24 hours before the event), hence the reason I said "virtually". According to Oxford dictionary, virtually means "nearly; almost"
