Do you think it will have GPS?

That is the only thing that concerns me.

Ask that question when it comes to the iPad's (base models) and iPod touch? That's my long standing criticism with those devices. For years they have always removed that function on purpose from the A chips.

I doubt this is it. The iWatch is supposed to be health and fitness based and frankly - this isnt something i can imagine myself working out with.

Also it doesnt look like something mean would wear.

If they tie this device in too tightly with iPhone, they will be missing a huge market. I believe it needs to be a great device completely on its own merit or it will fail badly. Could be Apple's first failure of the post Jobs era.

the iwatch is for idiots who cannot get their phone out of their pockets & who like to charge two devices & the same time for no reason. I will keep my rolex forever how long will the iwatch last?

Thank goodness you got rid of that ugly mock up picture, MacRumors.

I don't know why people keep making these sorts of comments. MacRumors is just going through a rotation of about a dozen different mock-ups. They're not "getting rid" of the last picture, this is just the next one on the queue. I'm sure you'll see whichever one you objected to, again, before Tuesday arrives. You'll probably also see this one again too.

And what kind of idiot is a Rolex for?

How about a new version of Siri that is actually useful?

Siri is incredibly useful. Perhaps you disliked it the first time you tried it and never bothered learning all that Siri can do, but Siri can do a lot and they keep adding more stuff. I personally use it multiple times a day and know plenty of people who do as well. There are things Siri can do a lot faster via a spoken sentence that take considerably more time with the touchscreen. I pity anyone who is still doing things the old fashioned way.

If it needs to sync with something (like the iPod did) it won't be too bad as long as it syncs with iPhone, iPad, Mac or Windows.

Wierd combination of restraining fashion to Apple's standards.
Personal privacy is a major concern for a display on your wrist showing to anyone around you a plethora of personal info.
Very easy to use to pay for stuff only in highly secure areas of the world, in most other parts this will be a quick and easy way for street criminals to identify their targets.
Even they put the fingerprint sensor on it, it would be odd to use, they may have developed some algorithm or any kind of way to identify people by their vital signs to learn who you are and automatically "know you" to ensure you are you and no one else can use or access your watch/band?
It has to be waterproof, and with a strong signal/range to ensure when you are inside the water on the beach you get all your phone data.
Surfing with iWatch...

... this is MR. People here expect posts to have a certain douche factor, and without that your posts won't be well received...

If this is really true I think I'm done with this forum...

I'm just looking for a golf app that will combine these 2 functions and look great:

There is rumored to be multiple levels and price points of the the wearable.

Im hoping for a $200-250 medical certified, stats tracking, sweat analyzing, band. Lightweight, simple, akin to nike sportsband.

Then others can buy this $400+ lcd app running wrist computer thing.

That's my theory and hope as well.

A lower priced all-encompassing health band. Then, a more highly priced device that functions as the smart watch + health band.

Iwatch

A watch without third party apps wouldn't work.
I think we will be using it like a wiimote to play games and to control our desktop like the leap motion gizmo.

That comment is about as useless and intentionally snarky as the answers given back when people asked when the iPhone would finally get multitasking: "I play music in iTunes, and then open Safari while it continues to play. Is this not multitasking?"

That's funny the person whom my reply was to understood is was not snarky. I was poking fun seeing as none of the stuff on the ATV are actually apps.

Do you think it will have GPS?

I think that's very unlikely. It would limit the battery life to a few hours.

A GPS receiver is a real power hog. Even with dedicated silicon, it requires a lot of calculations to pick the signals out of the noise and derive a position.

I use siri every day but there is still significant room for improvement. It understands me better after I installed iOS8 but it still often gives me the "sorry, somethings wrong and I can't take any requests right now" crap. I have perfectly fine service and asking a second time usually works but I shouldn't have to ask twice. This happens on wifi and cellular and has since Siri first came out. Also they could improve the quality of Siri's speech. Both google now and Cortana sound much more natural than Siri.
