Hi dhlizard,

Firstly, thank you for your reply its is most appreciated even though the information you have provided me with is information I already know.

I am aware that I cannot Jailbreak 4.0 firmware(Yet) otherwise my issues would not exist.

I think you may have missed in my post that I have the SHSH's for 3.1.3 FW for my phone on both Sauriks Server as well as locally on my PC.

Would be mostly appreciated if you could comment on my actual questions/issues that I have stated above. If not then thank you very much for your time.

Peace

I did. Without 3.1.2 hashes you are stuck. Sorry.

If you have the blobs for 3.1.3. then you can downgrade back to 3.1.3, jailbreak and unlock, then wait for 4.0 tools from dev team

Hey Kultschar,

Thanx for your reply.

My main issue is actually the activation(or even hactivation) of the phone once I get to 3.1.3 FW. The reason this is an issue is because I am in new Zealand and we have no AT&T here and I dont have an AT&T sim card.

To break it down, basically what I would love for someone to answer is;

Since my iPhone is currently "Activated" on iOS4.0. I'm assuming it was done properly with an AT&T Sim(or other way I am not aware of).
When I downgrade back to 3.1.3, will my iPhone need to go through the whole activation process again or is activation a "do it once and never do it again" type process, i.e. will it remain activated.

Is this activation process that is holding me back from downgrading as to my limited knowledge, I believe the only Jailbreak for my config of phone when running 3.1.3 is Spirit which requires the phone to be activated i.e. not on Connect to Itunes screen or Emergency Call screen.

Thank you for your time and help.

When you restore or upgrade firmware, you do need to activate the phone with iTunes. Easiest way is with a sim card from the official carrier who issued the phone. These can be had from eBay for very little money. The sim card does not need to be tied to an active account, just from the carrier the phone was issued by.

Some jailbreak methods hacktivate the phone so the update/restore, jailbreak and activation are all done in one package. However, this can limit the push notification effectiveness of the phone, so the best way is via sim.
