Are there any quick reply SMS apps that work with this jailbreak?
I am doing it with Redsn0w for now, but if there is something else other than biteSMS I can use, I'll have a look into it.

If you really need bite, re-jailbreak with Redsn0w.

Yes, if you really need it, use Redsn0w.

I love it and miss it and will be so relieved to have it back 'cause it's so useful that Apple should build it into the OS. But I don't need it. Especially not enough to lose the new found speed.

I'm also not having the weird minor issues I was having with the last jailbreak (which is why I gave this one a shot to begin with).

I'm wondering the same thing. While there's many reasons I've been using biteSMS over the others for so long, I'm sure some of the others will work for now. I'm thinking about Tlert since the rest of Intelliborn's stuff is working (I'm using MyWi and My3G).

Solo idk whats wrong with your iphone ... on stock i ran fast ... then jailbroke and haven't noticed one bit of a difference in speed or anything. Maybe you run to much? No clue .. but if im stock ... or jailbroke ... i don't notice a speed dif.

I didn't think there was a speed difference either, until I used jailbreakme3. It's possible I was running too much stuff, but I'm running all the same stuff now minus biteSMS of course, and there is a very noticeable difference. Not that it was molasses before, but it's definitely faster now. (And yes, I did restore from backup, too, so my settings and junk aren't fresh.)

I'd recommend people at least try jbme3. Have you tried it, Almeuit?

re Jailbreakme and Redsn0w

So, I used jailbreak me to jb 4.33 (after restoring iOS). I read that bitesms will throw me into an infinite recovery loop. So I I didn't restore it that app with pkgbackup and am using stock message instead.

If I want to use redsn0w now, do i have to re-restore, use redsn0w and then restore from my saved backup -- or can i just run redsn0w now, over jailbreakme, with no ill effect?

i am wondering if the difference between how jailbreakme and redsn0w JB -- how they handle the file system -- makes it impossible. or will redsn0w just "update" the iOS with a modified version?

With the two different file systems and whatnot, I would go about doing a restore, and then restoring from backup, and then JB with redsn0w, just to be on the safe side. It never hurts to be safe. :)

I doubt you would seriously hurt your phone if you just re-jailbroke though.

A little off topic but I have a JB 4.3.3 3Gs JBed with Redsnow. I noticed that after installing Bite I would get random crashes and the phone did slow down quite significantly.
After reading this thread I have un-installed bite and the phone has speeded up again.
The reason for the post is that perhaps the reason Solowalker's speed increase is nothing to do with the JB but the fact that he is not running bite?
Just a thought really.
Mac.

My iPhone 4 and one of my 3Gs both are jbed with Redsn0w on 4.3.3 and use BiteSMS as the primary texting app. No crashes or anything negative happening yet. :p

Do you have anything that would sapp the resources, such as: a lot of apps being open or elaborate themes being run?

Na. I don't really need my phone to be any faster due to it having no issues at the moment. Plus i keep hearing people saying stuff is breaking on jbme3 (like biteSMS) so id rather just stay where i am at :).

I am still on 4.1 greenpois0n JB and don't see any reason at all to upgrade. Any of the features in the newer versions apple has released i wouldn't use and my phone is working and doing what i want. Plus i love my bite... can't live without it at work. Able to listen to Pandora and txt back rly fast and continue workin :p.

Glad you guys figured out what the issue was. I'm thinking about rejailbreaking with jailbreakme.com and just not installing bitesms. I like that jailbreakme.com is so easy, that's why I choose to use it. Just hope they fix the compatibility issues soon.

Isn't always best to jailbreak over computer rather than on mobile web?

I'd had an issue with BiteSMS for a while now on my iPhone 4. Randomly, when I received texts from certain people, my iPhone will respring when the text comes in. I haven't looked at the texts to see the pattern (if it's a certain word that causes it, or if it depends on the time the text was received, or the person who sent it, or any combination of those.)

What kind of jailbreak did you use? If you used Redsn0w or anything but JBME, try restoring and then re-jailbreaking with Redsn0w.

Didn't work with Jailbreakme. Rejailbroke with RedSnow and it works just fine.

Any brave soul attempted it after the new jbme patches from Cydia today? I'd be interested to know the results. Half tempted to try it myself...

I was jailbroken with Spirit had no probs with bite though after a few package installations i would get a respring loop until it corrected itself after relooping a couple times. I'm on a new phone due to water damage wondering if I should have setup as new or from backup after I backed up it seemed a little slower

Am now using "QuickReply for SMS" and liking it quite a bit. It doesn't have quick compose, but it integrates well into the OS and doesn't add another icon/app to my phone, but I still will re-install Bite when it's working properly. Hopefully they sort out this issue soon.

Well, here's confirmation. I took the plunge and installed biteSMS again after installing the jbme3 patch through Cydia. Works perfectly so far (but so far I'm only texting myself 'cause it's so late here :p). What a relief! Comex does amazing things. How nice of him to patch the jailbreak instead of leaving it to others to patch their apps. :)

So if I JB with JBME.com a week ago when this biteSMS problem was occurring, what do I need to do to be on the updated JB version that works with bite?

Nevermind I found this Twitter post:
