Not in california if her boyfriend is over 18, which he is.

I was wondering how long it'd be until someone pulled out the Pedo Bear.

You gotta use the official seal though! :D

For those who dont know who Pedo Bear is - http://www.encyclopediadramatica.com/index.php/Pedo_bear

Hint, hint, its a joke.

To me, whether some 16 year old female gets pregnant shows evidence of irresponsible behavior on either her part or her partner's part (probably both). It also shows that the upbringing she received was ineffective. Her sister's behavior casts further doubt on the track record of her parents.

I think too many of today's so-called "celebrities" are so eager to step into the limelight and yet have so little to offer society in terms of positive examples of how people should living, that I think it would be difficult for the public to avoid some degree of passing judgment. Further, I think that none of this would be anyone's business beyond the individuals who are directly involved except that the press seems so eager to expose anything they can come up with.

This is one reason that I do not miss spending time filling my mind by watching this kind of trash on TV, preferring instead to enrich my mind working with my computer or finding good stuff on the Internet.

How is it possible that a sixteen year old is supposed to pass on knowledge and ambition to their children, when they have accumulated none of the former, and have destroyed all chances of the latter? Answer me that.

Just because she made a single mistake or a condom broke on her doesn't mean she has no knowledge or ambition, and having children definitely does not destroy all chances of acquiring knowledge and ambition. I've personally never known a mother who could not learn anymore and gave up all goals just because they had a child. If she has the financial means to do it, it means she's not a burden to society.
Also, to me, a role model is not someone who is miss perfect. It's someone who have made mistakes but stepped up to the plate, took the consequences and pull themselves through the shadow of their mistakes. As far as I can tell, she had stepped up to the plate by keeping the baby and not aborting it, and deciding to move back to Louisiana so that the baby can live a normal life. Only time will tell if she indeed was a responsible mother and stood up from this fall, but it's way too early to condemn her just yet.

Thats too bad. This girl has just lost some of the best years in her life to child rearing. The boyfriend should be smacked in the head.

Here is an opinion from a mother:

Sheila Anderson of Boone, Iowa
I have told my daughter that this is a perfect example of parents not setting boundaries for their children. Of course, a 16-year-old girl will get pregnant when she lives with a 19-year-old man. She was not old enough to be responsible for herself, and if her mom and dad had been reasonable parents, they would never have allowed her to move in with her boyfriend. Poor Jamie will never get the opportunity to just be a kid now that a baby is on its way. She's already grown up too fast and now will grow up even faster. I hope the little baby lives in a happy and loving environment, but as past cases like the little "Baby Grace" story show us, all strikes are against the child when born to teenage parents.

seriously ppl, why does this matter? i cant believe how many ppl are calling this girl a tramp etc, who are you all to judge? i think the girl is going to have a hard enough time having a kid at 16 without everyone adding their 2 cents. sh.t happens, time goes on

Spear's family = Trailer Park Trash

You can't expect to much from them...

I'm always curious why people feel the need to click these links just so they can tell us how much they don't care about the story posted. ;)

If we judge people who are successful as being inferior, it makes us feel better about our own failure to reach our potential or be happy.

Are you talking about those who are criticizing her, or those criticizing the people who are criticizing, or did I just answer my own question? :p

Because they're celebrities, and it's interesting, and because we like to knock them down a peg, especially when they bring it on themselves.

It's easier than talking about those other things we don't want to even think about.

Wasn't even a boyfriend, she didn't have a solid relationship, she just banged lots of guys (kinda harsh but true).

She messed up. Plain and simple.

Each hole is a goal

Either way I think the disturbing fact that people like this are multiplying, Darwin was wrong.....

I wouldn't have thought twice about this if she wasn't a role model to children. It has made me happy as I know my little sister is more mature than this "actress(?)".

That, and the other situation we have, where glossy magazines are putting a gorgeous front cover of lil' spears saying how well she's doing. This "enhancement of fame" does nothing but made other under-educated 14-18 year olds think "gee, if I open my legs, it's the best few hours work I'll ever do"

I find it sad that these are the kind of people society elevates as role models. They look pretty or have famous relatives, and the more stupid, idiotic, poor life choice decisions they make, the more people pay attention to them.

It's sad society doesn't look up to people who are genuinely intelligent and have made good life choices as role models.

Personally, I've always looked up to Shigeru Miyamoto. The man's a genius, plays multiple instruments, is always smiling, and despite being the freakin' creator of Mario, reports say he often bike rides to work and insists on a more average salary.

I've also always been rather fond of Weird Al Yankovic; the guy's never so much as cussed in a song, never had a drug or sex scandal, and seems to be a geniune nerd :)

I never got why people care about celebrities like Britney Spears and Paris Hilton. But I guess that's why I'm diagnosed with Asperger's :) Sometimes I pity the "normals".
