January 27" iMac Orders! (Those ordered in January)

Called Apple today to see if they had anymore info on my order and they gave me free expedited shipping and said my delivery should now be a few days sooner than what it was previously..... Just checked my credit card and it now shows a charge for my iMac. Website still says processing though.....hope it's not much longer. Anxious for my very first iMac.

Actually I just had a look in the spreadsheet and orders to Oz are typically only taking 3-5 days so my guess is they still can easily make the projected delivery dates even if they don't go preparing until early next week. I would rather it today/tomorrow but I think it will be more than likely it will happen next week after Chinese New Year.

You're most probably correct. It's still hard seeing all the others on here from Europe & USA having orders from Jan 21/22nd being prepared now having ordered Jan 18th. But if it comes within the initial expected delivery period I can't complain.
 
Just checked for the tenth time today, and my 27" i7, 3TB Fusion, 680mx is preparing for shipment...finally. Ordered on Jan 19. I just hope the workers didn't have the holiday on their minds and rushed mine....
 
So still getting used to the new imac. Except for a small hiccup with migration assistant which I think was the fault of my macbook. My 27" appears flawless. No cosmetic issues, very extremely quiet and no immediately apparent issues with the display. So those of you still waiting take heart it's entirely possibly to get a good one. And for the unfortunate ones that got bad ones, I totally feel for you, but hopefully your replacements will fix things for you. I wish you the best of luck.

Ditto. Based on anectdotal reports as to current shipping times, seems that my iMac will probably arrive in the two day window that I am not at work to receive it :eek:

First, a little background:

Ordered January 15
Shipped February 5
Due for Delivery Monday, February 11, by 4:30

Today, Saturday, February 9th:

5:50 am - Woke up and checked FedEx tracking, package was at my local sorting facility at 5:47 am - good timing

6:00 am - Called Apple, and requested a hold for pickup (FedEx won't let you unless Apple authorizes). Representative tells me it can take 48-72 hours to go through, so do this early! I'm bummed...

6:10 am - Called FedEx, representative said they could hold, but since it was at a sorting facility, to call back later, around 10 am.

8:00 am - Just can't wait, so I go to my local FedEx location, and ask if it can possibly be picked up, I expect to wait at least a few hours. The lady at the counter tells me that it's packed in a shipping container and I'll have to wait until then to pick it up. I am about to walk out in disappointment... when a supervisor steps in and says they might have it there already!

He proceeds to lead me into the back loading area, full of packed shipping containers. We locate the one, it's the last one inside of the loading door. He opens it, and we look around. It's beginning to look like it's buried in the back and I won't be able to get it today... until I spot that trapezoidal box. One of a few, actually. So I got my Mac today. The outer packaging is damp, probably due to sitting in Arctic tundra of Alaska for two days, but the inner box looks fine. I'll let you know more soon... about to open it!

TL;DR - FedEx went out of their way to get me my iMac 2 days early. FedEx, you rock!!!
 
Weird on my shipping. Says it shipped on 6th, but the tracking only shows its booked on a flight from Abu Dhabi that goes tomorrow to London. Anyone else had that?

No mention of Shanghai or how it gets o Abu Dhabi at all.

Arrives London 5:30 pm, so fingers crossed that is not too Late for UPS to get it delivered to me on Monday as I am off. (I know it's unlikely but let a boy dream)!! :p

How much is it now? When I bought my 32 GB Crucial Ram it was only $86 per 16GB and i got 2 of them so thats $172.00 no tax or shipping with Amazon if you are a prime member.

I think having this shipping info is driving me mad. :eek:

Told it was shipping on 6th, but info shows it only moved from Shanghai today (10th).

Until today it showed that it was to be on a flight from Abu Dhabi to arrive in London tonight, now it has moved two days to the 12th! Guessing it must have missed the flight today, which is annoying since it seems to have Taken 4 days longer to ship from Shanghai.

I will now go and read the posts from happy customers and be glad it's at least moving!

I think that your delay as the result of the Holiday "china's new year"
 
As a record, mine is stuck in rome from yesterday 9.00am... Now the chance of a monday shipping is expired. After a world tour (and i hope that the imac is still in one piece after such a trip), maybe it's enjoying la dolce vita.
 
Free Trackpad!

So I called Apple and asked about update on my iMac ordered 12 days ago. She read the exact same stuff as the website and did not offer expedited shipping...BUT then I asked if it was possible to swap out the mouse for a trackpad without loosing place in line. She put me on hold and came back saying they will add the trackpad as a separate order at no charge!

So no expedited shipping, BUT free trackpad! I'll take it!
 
I ordered my iMac on 1/31 and the pending charge on my card fell off a couple of days later. This morning I woke up and the pending charge is back on there. I am hoping that means that it might change to preparing tomorrow, but I have my doubts since there are multiple orders ahead of me according to the spreadsheet. Exciting none the less.

I ordered on the 30th but no signs of activity. What specs are your system in question?

hmm I have the same specs besides video card...sure would love a shipment this week. I'm going crazy waiting
