January 27" iMac Orders! (Those ordered in January)

Still no updates on my 1/4 order...sigh. I guess I'll wait a few more days and then call Apple if nothing changes. :/

I agree on the SSD. They did say they have been getting some in. They just don't have any today. Ill phone again tomorrow. They also have had the 680mx and 3Tb fusion in in the last week. I just can't phone/ get there at the right time.

That's the exact model I have on order. I haven't called my local store since I gave up and placed my order online. Maybe I should again, but I'm not sure how refunds work on gift cards.
 
Just FYI guys, and this has probably been mentioned before, but I just called the other Apple store in my area (Detroit) and they said they won't be stocking a base 27" with the Fusion as the only upgrade. They usually have base models and then the decked out higher end ones...

I am so impatient. Everyone in our studio got new computers. Everyone else got the 21.5, and received them a while ago. Being a web developer, I love having the space to code and preview side-by-side without the need for a second monitor ... but damnit, I almost wish I'd chosen the 21.5 so I'd have it already.

Just keeping you guys in the loop. This one was Processing until 5:00 am (CST) today. It has now switched to Preparing for Shipment. I'm hoping to see it change to Shipped today, but I'm not going to hold my breath.

i had a check on the spreadsheet and it does look like orders move to being prepared for shipment at the weekend. so if they are preparing 5/6 today, Then hopefully 7/8/9 Jan will be change before/on Monday.

I ordered mine on the 7th January, wonder if mine will be going to "prepare for shipment" soon i'm currently on "processing" :(

I cancelled an order I placed with a gift card (twice, actually, because I wanted to change my iMac order). For some reason, the AppleCare charge had already been deducted, so they gave me that back in a new gift card (via email) after a day or two. The remainder of the balance was still intact on my gift card.

Thanks for the info. I'll be calling tomorrow and see what they have in store.
 
Just spoke with Apple support. They apologized profusely for the long wait and granted me expedited shipping free of charge. They also said they had finally pre-authorized payment on my card, a good sign it should ship soon, but I don't see that on my end.
 
Weirdly, my Apple account page that still says 'Processing' now has a picture of a box instead of the actual iMac.

ditto except only got phone. which needs to go back to Apple but cant send it back until imac turns up.

i dont think its much longer now. Apple took my money, have they taken yours?
