Yeah, I recently upgraded from a Series 2 to the Series 4 with cellular and its like a completely different product in term of speed and functionality. I love the Series 4 so much more than I ever did the Series 2.

That and the real Key point with the Series 4 that doesn’t get enough credit is the 64-bit dual core processor. Basically, it wil allow for longer support through applications/watchOS.

Is it just me, or does it look like somebody smashed the screen on the silver watch in this photo?

I really wish Apple would do like a Apple Watch Plus/XL/Large like a 55 or 60mm for big guys like me. Currently I still have a Series 0 watch with a Lunatik Case on it, which makes it look bigger, cause without it, it is like wearing a woman's dress watch.
ME BIG MAN NEED BIG WATCH FOR ME BIG MAN WRIST SO NO LOOK LIKE DAINTY WOMAN I NEED BIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIG WATCH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

"There have been reports of less-than-stellar sales of iPhone XR, which uses LCD."

But was the LCD the reason for the low sales?

Whether or not the LCD was the reason is pretty irrelevant. The article was describing Japan Display's financial woes and gave low sales of the Xr as the reason. Since Japan Display provides the LCDs for the Xr, low Xr sales numbers obviously affect it financially.

why Apple loves to cling to old technology until the very last moment?
while Samsung always gives consumers the very latest available technology?

LCD displays, non retinal displays in Macbook Airs, non retina iPad Mini, screen & speaker downgrade in “new iPad”,etc etc

Maybe more health related features?

If they managed to release something with a significant better battery life, allowing me to go for 3-4 days without a charge I'd be tempted, now I put my Watch on charge at night with about 50% to spare so I could barely do two days, having an improvement would allow me to go away for a weekend and not worry about battery life, I hate packing the Watch charger just for a quick trip...

Agree - a new health feature (e.g. blood pressure, glucose monitoring?) would be something I'd upgrade for. I also don't like having to pack the watch charger for weekend trips, but I don't know if I'd upgrade just for that. I've gotten into the habit of simply putting the watch in airplane mode and only take it out of that during exercise (which doesn't tend to happen on weekend trips ;-) Doing that easily lets me get through a weekend. Actually, I'd rather have a thinner watch than a bigger battery. While the current design doesn't bother me esthetically, I find the watch sometimes gets caught when I put on a shirt or jacket. Not a big deal, but slimmer would be nice.

I could find you one at Toys R US?!
Just kidding. I honestly believe larger options are coming especially with the more complex WatchOS becomes.

For me OLED was not part of the decision of getting an XS, it was camera and memory (RAM).

I'd have been happy with LCD for now, in particular with how many Apps and web pages use a white background!
Camera is understandable. RAM is not. The XS models need the extra 1GB of RAM to power the extra pixels and zoom lens. Other than the zoom lens, OLED display, there’s basically nothing different in meaningful specs.

As the demand for OLED displays keep rising, we will see more and more OLED manufacturers. The days of Samsung's monopoly are over.

The only ones who told you that XR's screen is "good" are the XR buyers who desperately need to justify their purchase.
Actually OLED is patented by LG. Samsung is the makers of AMOLED. Which is a much brighter version, but with lower viewable angles. In order to make OLED panels, you would have to go through LG first.

Samsung always gives consumers the very latest crap technology. In-screen touch sensors that are slow and crappy. Face ID clone that can be fooled with a picture shown on another screen. Etc. etc.

I'm trying to imagine what features it would take for me to upgrade my S4.

I'm hopeful the next major feature for the Apple watch will be continuous glucose monitoring.

This isn't useful for just folks who are diabetic... Monitoring your glucose (and, by inference, your insulin response) is a hugely valuable health measurement. When people have some visibility into how their body responds when we pour Skittles or venti frappachinos down our collective pie holes, I envision some real change in our collective dietary health.

Samsung never advertises their Face unluck feature as the secure unlock feature,it’s just there for basic protection..they give people option and don’t just shove whatever they think is best to consumets like Apple..
Samsung’s ultra sonic under display is the best under display FP technology, whether you like it or not,it’s the first generation and can only improve, that’s something Apple tried to make and failed just like Airpower.

If you think Samsung’s tech is crap, then I’m sorry but Apple will borrow and implement all of them one by one year after year but slowly for you lol
Reverse charging,OLED,large screen phones, etc etc all been criticised by fanboys like you when Apple didn’t do them.yet now Apple is catching up using them all themsey many years later!

Putting useless technology on a device just because they can is of no benefit to anyone.

The Samsung crap way.

Could an OLED display lead to better battery life?

Depends on how it's used. One of the benefits of OLED is that black pixels can actually be independently turned off. Also no backlight required. But it's not a slam dunk as some believe. As with so many things "it depends" on how you use it. OLED is also susceptible to burn in.

Hopefully, the new screens will not suffer from the same green tint and uneven nature that was apparent on the Series 4.
I really hope so. I switched from my beloved AW2 to an AW4. It wasn’t an upgrade, was an expensive downgrade. The quality screen is really bad (uneven, blue/greenish tint). You don’t see watchfaces, you only see a faulty screen. So disappointed

Will Japan Display also provide the lawyers for the inevitable class action lawsuit when <fill in the blank> happens?
