Bwahaha. Well, at least the guy who proved him wrong donated his money to charity. Still pretty funny though.

The loss of private data is never a good thing, especially when it's financial data.

Classic Clarkson. Stupid, but he's learnt something and so have a few others (including myself)

who?

but anyways. at least some more people are readily aware of the dangers that can happen when people get access to this info.

He's a top chap, he wouldn't have pubished his details without being informed that it was perfectly safe beforehand, so whoever instructed him was infact wrong and therefore the idiot.
Jezza for PM!

Our details were among those that went missing on HMRC's missing disks, and this chap told us we'd be fine and not to worry.

Maybe he assured Mr Clarkson he'd be similarly safe?

Actually, what he did wasn't stupid at all - he'll get the money back via the Direct Debit Guarantee. We do exactly the same thing he did every time we send someone a cheque.

The simple solution to stop such an issue happening again is for the banks to issue a letter to the account holder every time a direct debit is set up.

Being a guy who doesn't have anything against Clarkson and finds him rather amusing... but also a guy affected by the UK government's idiocy, I find this amusing yet slightly worrying.

Good one, Clarkson xD

Mr. Clarkson is a fine fellow and a splendid television presenter and I will not hear a word against him. The way he satirises the attitudes of smug, self satisfied right wing Daily Mail readers is a joy to behold. He should be given an award for his acting skills.

It really sums up just how ignorant that man is. Almost all of his viewpoints that he chooses to make public are just ridiculous.

I loathe the man and don't find him even slightly entertaining/amusing/intelligent. All the more reason why he should refrain from expressing his opinion in public!
