Both were Store models, so they should have had the same amount of handling.

Not necessarily. More people could be (or rather, they spend more time) checking out the JB because it's the advertised model and most different from the rest of the lineup. Likewise, Rose Gold was handled far more than Gold last year.

Either way, it's not an accurate representation. Any iPhone rocked naked would go in and out of the pants pocket and hence be self cleaning.

Here are a few photos. Back has Zagg original invisashield skin on it, the front has Zagg Glass+ on it and the case is a gel/silicone one I got on Amazon for $3.00.

Nice screen protector, but putting it in a case defeats the purpose of admiring its beauty. In my opinion of course. I would put a thin back wrap to protect the back from scratches, and use it naked.

I've ordered a leather sleeve from Joli originals to protect it when I'm on the move. But when I'm using it, it will still be naked.

I like the feel of metal in my hand

In the same vein, I think there are people justifying the other way also. I have yet to see a JB owner saying anything other than "fingerprints aren't a big deal! It doesn't take long to keep it clean"!

I bought a matte black and never once considered a JB. I like matte finishes and I'm way too OCD for a shiny phone.

Maybe, but I don't seem notice new treads started by JB owners "justifying" it as I do matte. But either way but which ever you want...don't base your choice on what other people like and enjoy your phone.

I'm very OCD and the finger prints may bother me, only time will tell. But the matte displays at Apple Store also have finger prints, due to the matte finish they are not as obvious from a distance, and also seem to not clean off as easy due to the none glossy finish. It's an everyday item and at the end of the day, do you really have the time to worry about such nonsense.

Enjoy the 7 now because in a year we will be getting something new anyway.

Jet Black is reminding me of the iPhone 3GS.. I spent an inordinate amount of time cleaning that phone.

I already do that with the screen sometimes as it is and feel like that...I don't wanna feel like that with the ENTIRE phone, lol. Even in a clear case, if I saw smudges and fingerprints, I would wanna get rid of em

I agree, that's why I have a skin from Zagg on the back. Only posted the case, for a reference as many people seem to be considering a thin clear case. I order that it came before phone and put phone in it immediately, without ever touching the back, until I was able to get the skin for the back.

Technically, the actual back of my phone has never been touched by fingers.

Yet you thought Apple should have used a glass back with the iPhone 7? If you're that way with the screen, you'd be the same way with the glass back too.

good question to ask yourself:

Do you obsess with cleaning the front of your phone b.c fingerprints? If yes, you probably should steer clear of JB. If it doesn't bother you, fingerprints on the back shouldn't either.

Actually, I don't think the fingerprints would bother me nearly as much as the scratches and light swirls.

Maybe that turns out to be a non issue, no idea! I agree though. I could care less what others like and picked my color/size based on my preference.

I did kinda wish the matte came with a brushed SS apple logo, so that bit I was jealous of on the JB.

EDIT: enjoy your pick too!

That is really the only thing I dislike about the matte. In my own head, I would think the JB would be the all blacked out logo, but I am glad it is not.

Looks better case less. Having a skin inside a case is over kill imo. I thought the purpose of JB was to flaunt it? Clear cases are hideous. =\

It's indeed the same way. However, it's no different from buying a black car. You're basically trading higher maintenance for the look. Some say nothing looks better than a well-maintained black car.

I have the JB and simply allow it to be self cleaning of fingerprints each time I put it in and out of the pocket. The only thing that truly annoys me is smears/squeaks on the Apple logo, in which case I'd take the time to clean that area. However, the Apple logo on the iPhone 7 has been scratch free so far, unlike that on the 3G/3GS which would get scratched up within a few days.

The JB does feel better in the hand compared to matte aluminum, and it's more grippy to boot. That might be an important factor for those who rock their iPhones naked.

How can someone spend thousands on a guitar and live with scratches on the front and back? I bought a guitar back in 2004, played it only a few times since. Still looks pristine. I wish there was a case I can play it in. I see guitars from the legends and they're all dinged up from playing and from belt buckles.

My wife's phone and watch are scratched and dinged from just a year of use. She just shrugs it off and carries on. They've survived thousands of miles of travel and dozens of fossil excavations.

I was thinking of covering my guitar in Saran Wrap. I did that with the Magic Mouse. Works great. Wonder if I could do that with the jet black iPhone. Hmm.

Does Zagg sell skins for the back as well? I was searching their website and couldn't find any. Thought they only sold tempered glass protectors for the front

I don't see the appeal of the jet black, the matte black looks much better and doesn't have the draw backs of looking like **** after someone has touched it.
I'd say 80% of the iphones I see are cased up..

Jetblack looks way nicer in person.

Real life usage does not involve hundreds of hands touching it.

Only yours. Prints are easily wiped away with a micro fiber cloth.

In any case, you can get a naked transparent skin wrap if you wish to protect it from scratches and fingerprints.

In terms of pure looks, Jet black looks better.
nawoo for the win!

could you please tell me where u got the shield for the back of the phone from?
I really like clear back cases -which have black on the sides. check out the "ringke fusion iphone case black" as an example. they tend to blend in very well

Maybe because it's true.

There ain't no Zagg skin for the back of an iPhone. Only front tempered glass screen protection.

Some other less famous brands that sell Tempered glass screen protectors do include a thin skin for the back of the iPhone as well

I saw them in my local apple reseller today. I think that should do it for me.

Use it naked, but tucked in a Joli originals sleeve while on the go

Yes there is, it is just their basic glass though. They have had back skin phone protectors forever.

Do you mind sharing the link to that here? I can't seem to find it on their page.

I searched zagg skins and it showed that the line was discontinued. So I don't see how they would be able to make a skin for the new iphone 7
