Do you mind sharing the link to that here? I can't seem to find it on their page.

I searched zagg skins and it showed that the line was discontinued. So I don't see how they would be able to make a skin for the new iphone 7

No link, I get them from the Zagg mall kiosk, where they cut them with their little machine. Was the first thing I put on my Jet Black Plus. Always put them on the back so never have to worry about what you set the phone on.

I took these pictures last Sunday when my friend got the black 7 against my jet black 7 (pictures taken with another friend's Samsung S7, and IMO the camera on that is better than the iPhone).

The jet black surface does grip a little better but I keep my phone in case anyways. The only real difference you can tell is the mute button and lightning port & bottom speaker holes are shiny black in my case compared to the matte black look. Same with the rear camera opening. And even then, you can't really tell unless you really look for it.

I could've gone with either and would have been completely happy.

I don't mind a phone I have to wipe down but having to take an entire day to wash, clay, and wax my black car to keep it looking nice is a different story... I am sure someone out there is going to clay their iphone lol.

The fingerprints are a non-issue to me. I always use a case because I would rather not have to pay for a phone or screen replacement every time I drop it. Should keep the back in good shape in general. By the time I get my JB+ I should have quite a few cases and accessories for it... I swear it seems like it's never coming at this point.

I bet a tiny dual action polisher with an Apple logo on it would sell great.

Maybe because it's true.

What are you even saying? It's true that fingerprints don't matter?

Thanks for sharing your opinion. They don't matter much to me, but based on the 300 other users I've seen cite that as a reason they do not like the JB phones, I assume it IS a big deal to some.

Too much work involved.

I'll eventually do to my jet black iPhone what I normally do to my black (or any) cars.... wrap it with Xpel paint protection clear gloss wrap.

It'll still show some fingerprints, but no where near as bad as the black paint/cover without any protection. And, it'll keep just about anything from scratching the phone and keep the phone looking brand new.

It's funny that the matte looks really good in photos but in real life the jet black is better. My opinion of course.
It's literally the exact opposite of that. It doesn't look nearly as good in photos as it does in hand.

do you have a link where I can buy this? (and hopefully they ship overseas haha)
thanks! :)

Jetblack looks way nicer in person.

Real life usage does not involve hundreds of hands touching it.

Only yours. Prints are easily wiped away with a micro fiber cloth.

In any case, you can get a naked transparent skin wrap if you wish to protect it from scratches and fingerprints.

In terms of pure looks, Jet black looks better.

That is subjective though...some people simply do not like glossy finishes

And some people will prefer the black apple logo as well...matte black has its place.

it is like other people who love the silver/white colour the best; that is their preference.

hope this helps some compare.

Both were Store models, so they should have had the same amount of handling.

Just wanted to say thank you for sharing these pics

Good luck there mate, people on this forum seem to think that their opinions are fact. Even when it comes to something as subjective as colour preferences

Jet black does not look as good to me -looks terrible actually. The matte black has a much more refined and elegant appeal to it. That's for me, anyways.

Just saw JB at best buy. IMO it feels terrible, plastic like. It looks much better in pictures and on video...i don't want to offend anyone who has it or is waiting for months...but I suggest seeing it in person - from someone who was pissed for not getting it...you are not missing much but feel of a 2005 plastic black style of phone.

It could have been so much more refined with a metal coating or whatever...seems like a rush job. Sad that it made it past Apple execs.

Edit: one more thing, the only people i see defending this color is those who did not get it yet. Only a few I know who have it actually like it.

The different reactions are really funny/interesting. To me, the jet black 7 feels more premium than any other iPhone, ever. Now I'm really curious what Jony Ive and his team will come up with next, because the jet black 7 is a really tough act to follow.

Agreed and agreed. Didn't want to use the phrase looks cheap because I'm sure a bunch of people would get bent out of shape.

I saw both in the store and after some use decided I didn't like the Jet Black for reasons other than fingerprints. I feel it is just what anyone else would call piano black and it's not really a color that would be my first choice. As well there was something about the finish that made the JB phone seem thicker than the regular black.

Going with the flat black myself.

Im saying it takes me about two and a half seconds to wipe the fingerprints off. Im not going to whine about that. I knew what I was getting into when I placed the order. I love the JB color. Matte Black is great too.

Wrong, Ive had mine for four days and I love it. It looks much better in person than on video. The thing is gorgeous.

Oh, sure. I do not doubt for one second that there are many JB users out there that absolutely love their JB iPhones and could care less about the fingerprints.

Sorry if my post seemed to indicate differently. I was just pointing out that I think the buyer's remorse seems to be on both sides of the fence. Some people feel the need to justify their purchase or bag on someone else for their purchase.

False. I have the JB and prefer it to the matte aluminum in terms of feel and grip, especially given that I rock it naked.

You're yet another matte Black owner who puts down JB. Funny we don't see too many (or rather, as many) JB owners putting down matte Black. I think both are equally nice.

I don't care about finger prints. I only care about scratches and if I could keep the jet black pristine, I would have gotten it. I got the matte black instead and it's a lot darker in person.

This is extremely simple:
  • If the phone is used naked, then Jet Black self-cleans in your pocket just like iPhone 4 did, and has MUCH better grippiness than the old matte finishes, reducing the chance being dropped.
  • If it isn't naked, this whole discussion is moot.
