Or yeah know...most of these games were "free" so.... how was I was supposed to buy it again?Or ya know...could just buy the game.

I think what you said goes against the majority of people who post here. I see an awful, I mean a lot of "I don't like it and you shouldn't either!!!!!"Wow the hate is strong with Apple Arcade. Not every service Apple offers has to be for you, that doesn't make it bad.
Apple Arcade provides a good selection of games with no ads and doesn't constantly bug you for IAP. It is a godsend for those of us who entertain/have kids. My friends daughter (7) has a blast playing Sneaky Sasquatch, the Lego games, the Crayola game, Song Pop Party, various cooking/assembly games. Even some of the "old" games like Tiny Wings, Super Stickman Golf, Angry Birds, Cut the Rope, Fruit Ninja are new to her. She doesn't care if they were originally out before she was born. And again - it is just $5 a month and can be shared with Family!
I literally have hundreds of games (PS/Xbox/Atari etc.) I've purchased over the years at $50+ each that I no longer play, or even barely played anyway because they ended up being crudy. For the price of one of those I get a whole year of games I (or my "kids") enjoy. Usually after a certain amount of time you stop playing games you purchased too or they are no longer supported etc. Pretty much all the games I purchase in the earlier days of iOS are no longer playable. So every game you buy really is just a rental anyway.
We enjoyed the first version of Jetpack Joyride, I'm sure we will enjoy this one.
Apple Arcade is the reason Apple is actively blocking Xbox Game Pass from iOS
Just wow. AA is a subscription service providing games where IAPs are forbidden. One would have to really have a weak understanding of the situation to invoke games that are the polar opposite of that. DI is the current poster child for ridiculous IAPs.Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4 comes to Apple Arcade from late 2023
kidding
Meh. It's just light games. JetPack Joyride has been very popular. No reason to sneer just because it might not be your cup of tea. Monument Valley 2 is also there. Beefier games seem to struggle on mobile. I hardly play on my iPhone (except 20, which is addictive). Personally I prefer my iPad and have found some good stuff like games like Xcom, Space Marshalls, Northgard, Company of Heroes, Elder Sign, Civ 6... but those won't be coming to AA. And I'm okay with that. I'd prefer paying for them anyway. I'm sad that Into the Breach was snatched up by Netflix, though.Oh yay, another crummy, basic as hell "game". Apple Arcade really is awful.
Sure, some games have mobile exclusivity. Also some, the creators only created versions for Apple platforms on purpose.Apple Arcade is a trash service where good games languish, and here's why:
- Exclusivity. If a game is on Apple Arcade, it can only be played through Apple Arcade. Hmm what's that? You would like to buy Exit the Gungeon and Jetpack Joyride 2? Well TOO BAD! Subscribe to Apple Arcade or no game for you. There are a lot of games that got Mac ports but you cannot buy them on Steam because of the Apple Arcade exclusivity.
So the majority of games aren't exclusive, then?
- Redundancy. The majority of Apple Arcade titles are either "remasters" of mobile games you played 10 years ago, ad-free versions of existing mobile games, or indie games that are available on much better platforms, most notably the Nintendo Switch.
Oh, okay. Good to know!
I guess you must really like advertisements and in-app purchases being shoved in your face then?

Apple Arcade
Apple Arcade is a game subscription service that anyone can enjoy, with 200+ incredibly fun games — all without ads or in-app purchases.www.apple.com
I know you're kidding, but I would appreciate mobile versions of those video games on Apple Arcade. Maybe it'll happen some day?
Diablo Immortal is already on apple store, full game i think
First I thought, there is a point indeed. But then, hey you can opt out of that subscription at any time. Even if you just play that one game for two months, its 2.50$ a month. So what. The developer has a larger exposure to the audience, its a win for everybody involved. At least in the short run. Plus its surely cheaper than buying the game and keep it forever.Sorry Apple, I'm not signing up for some subscription plan just to play a game. However I'd happily pay the developer directly. You both lose.
Diablo immortal in Apple Arcade without the predatory IAPs would be AWESOME!!! 😄Diablo Immortal and Diablo 4 comes to Apple Arcade from late 2023

How do people who don’t pay and use the Apple Arcade service know it’s bad if they don’t use it?
We don’t need a subscription to rummage through trash. How do people who don’t pay and use the Apple Arcade service know it’s bad if they don’t use it?
I enjoyed it mainly cause of Asphalt 8+. It's ashame the game hasn't been updated in a few months cause it's fun and keeps the old stats of various vehicles.I've been playing for a few hours now and have been really enjoying it!
That's where I'm at. Do I play any of the games on Apple Arcade? No, I don't. But I have a daughter who does. It's nice not having to worry about ads and IAP's. When it comes to games that have ads...I've run into some that aren't exactly appropriate for an 8 year old. That right there, makes Apple Arcade a win for me 🤷♂️Wow the hate is strong with Apple Arcade. Not every service Apple offers has to be for you, that doesn't make it bad.
