it really depends on what you do with it. While i love the large screen, attempting to use 10-inch ipad with one hand over extended period (or even short period of time) isn't easy.

8-inch is probably the largest form factor for allowing one hand operation. If rumors are true, my only complaint would be non-retina screen.

It's non-retina because it's low cost.

I checked his post on the Loop

Note nowhere in the quote that he talks about is he talking about the smaller iPad - it never talks about the mini. Gruber talks about the iPad (and the supposed smaller version) but the only mention of an iPad Mini is the title of the link itself. I don't want to call this a confirmation since it doesn't have a "yep" in it from Jim like his other confirmation (especially about the September event). Jim links to Gruber a lot, that doesn't mean that he is confirming anything that John is saying. I don't disagree that Jim agrees with John to some degree, but this is the weakest "confirmation" that I have seen. I see this as Jim agreeing with certain points. At no time does he confirm a mini or whatever. He is very careful as to what he quotes.

Jim put "iPad mini event" in the title of his article.

He didn't change ALL of his opinions ALL the time. The times when he did change we sometimes find out about. But you act like he was always was against common sense and then somehow came around.

Since he is not here anymore I don't think we will ever know if he would have changed his opinion on the issue of tablet sizes. But we do know that he was against the idea.

I don't believe you presume to know better.

Well I never said he did change it all of the time. At the time of quote, the idea of a 7" seemed unlikely. The market has spoken since, and Apple seems to be listening.

My absolute favorite Jobs example of flip flopping has to be the App store. If you ever owned an iPhone first gen, or at least remember his stance back then, you would think it was crazy. He did not want any third party apps nor an app store. Can you imagine? One of the few where he came around and it worked in unbelievable ways.

At any rate... it really does not affect you in any way. Even if you're an investor with TONS of stock in Apple, it really doesn't affect you. Especially given Apple's recent growth. You have room to fluctuate if the markets take a relatively small dive because of the 7" somehow flopping (guaranteed it won't in its initial year - released right before the holiday). If you don't have any money involved, really, why in the world would it bother you?

Yet he is british to the bone. Check out the fab Concert BluRay "Made in Stoke" where Slash and band rock his home town's hall. He lived in Stoke on Trent for seven years as I seem to remember.

But WTF! I got so damn excited when I saw Slash just hoping for some Logic announcement - and now that tyical bummer XYZ mumbles about XYZ media event when XYZ iOS device will be shown.

In the 90s I read that he grew up knowing Tone Loc so I assumed he was born in LA. A world national treasure then.

guns and roses was not good music!

I hope someday you get taken down to the paradise city where the grass is green and the girls are pretty.

Slash and David Bowie Trivia.

David Bowie was in a relation with Slashes mom, (His mom was a costume designer!)
And Slash rembers Bowie and likes his work.
I forget where I read that but I thought it was cool.

I like both bowie and slash alot. both super cool influences on music.
