Well, he's trying to show off these cool new things and it's being hindered because some dip**** blogger from some site no one cares about wants to update their site with 20 pictures per minute. And when he asks politely, the majority just laugh uncomfortably at him.

So yeah, Jobs had a good reason to get a little noticeably angry.

What seems so apparent to you didn't occur to Apple. They could have password protected theri network in less than a minute.

There IS a pass on there network. But too many myfi networks took all the channels and it screwed with eachother.

You need a understanding of wifi networks to get what happened.

Just watched the keynote. I thought he handeled it well and was pretty funny throughout the keynote. I didn't hear the verizon comment though.

Seems like WiFi was working for the iPhone 3GS but not for the iPhone 4...hmmmm

I thought it went as well and stuff like happens all the time...He handled it pretty well but did you guys see all those crazy bloggers with their laptops and typing like some kind of maniacs lol

Regardless who you like or what you think of SJ , you all have to admit that this was totally preventable if the situation would have been thought out a little more before the presentation. At some point there was either a severe lack of foresight or a human error of SOME kind.

And Steve was Pissed.

He handled it well, but was Pissed

I watched it several times. What are you talking about? The icon never changes from wifi to 3G before he goes on to the photo demo and he never got a "cannot connect to network message"... Go look at the podcast up on Apple.com.

Though it's possible they cut something out of the podcast version, because I don't hear the guy saying "Try Verizon" either..

yes.

no the 3g didn't turn on, that's the point. It couldn't connect :p

So Im going to have to make an announcement to my entire University to tell all the students and staff to shut off their laptops, computers and wifi connections so I can send a text message?

Life happens. Technology happens.

He will still have the last laugh as cash continues to pour in from sales on iPhone 4:cool:

Can somebody please tell me why the 3gs had no wifi issues yet the i4 did? I agree Steve handled the situation well, but what worries me is that he didn't look well and even his voice sounded weak. He seems to still be losing weight a year after his liver transplant. I hope everything is alright with his health.

He's not a well man. Liver transplants are serious. And likely he will need another in a few years. Hopefully he will make it that long.

It got him so upset he forgot he had a line of computers. Didnt utter the word Macintosh 1 time? I wonder how long before they move into toaster ovens and towels?

I provide IT for conference delegates as part of my job, and it is like herding cats. You have to practically threaten violence to get them to do anything.

To you talking about that the 3G turned on it was like this; He was connected to his base station all the time but since that didn't reach the internet the phone tired 3G but it was obvious that the SIM in the phone at that time didn't have a data plan, I don't have a data plan at the moment and I get the same message when my internet is down but I'm still connected to the router.

What I don't understand is why he didn't just disconnect from the wifi network and use 3G. 3G wasn't "overloaded" or anything, and granted it would be a little slower, the page would have loaded fine.

I understand not using 3G for facetime, since their iOS won't allow you to, however.

Because he didn't have a data plan for that iPhone. Read the post above yours.
