Two separate departments by the way. The M series of chips came out during the "rainbow brand" era and are one of the most innovative things Apple has ever done. You don't like the rainbows? Don't buy the watch bands or use the wallpapers. Easy as that.
There’s also the fact that rainbows are as much a callback to the rainbow Apple logo as supporting Pride.
It would be extremely dumb for Apple to give up on rainbow branding, because that would be giving up on a huge chunk of Apple’s ( and Steve Jobs’s) own branding legacy.
