I'm looking to get one of this for my MacBook Air 13inch. Only thing I was wondering is whether it gets hot while charging. I have seen other sleeves that have the gap down the longer side, as the vent is along the long edge of the MacBook Air.

Does anyone find that it gets too hot while charging?

Most of the time I charge it when it's not in the sleeve, but when I do it's fine, it doesn't get hotter than charging out of the sleeve.

It does block the fans, but the fans are not working when it's closed and asleep, so that's not a problem. :)

Another vote for these sleeves. I've got one for my 11" MBA and its superbly made and a perfect fit. Great quality leather too. Nice and soft.

These do look lovely, and as much as I would love one, £70 shipped to uk is a bit... Ouch!

Just got one...

Feels like quality and (an added personal touch) a hand written note from the creator.

Happy to post other pictures of the sleeve if anyone wants.

Would you be kind enough to post some more pictures of the case and with the MBA inside?

I'm thinking of getting one for my 13" :D

I looked for over 6 months and I couldn't find a better sleeve for my purposes - the Joli Original (Black/Aqua) for my 13" was hands-down the best.

Outstanding comminication with Harold - he'll answer your email questions within an hour of sending it, and I can't wait (its arriving today) to slide my new MBA into it!

If you're spending that much, you deserve to spend a little bit more and give your classy new MBA a classy new Joli sleeve :)

Just noticed this thread and immediately ordered a black/green sleeve for my MBA 13"
Can't wait for it to arrive!

This might sound weird but can you post a pic of you holding the sleeve with one hand horizontally please... to see how much it flexes under its owe weight... figure this would be a good way to see how stiff/rigid the leather is lol

 Thanks :)

They don't flex under their own weight, but only just hold themselves up straight, not stiff but not floppy...

I have one for my MBA and my iPhone, really really good quality materials, craftsmanship and service from Joli.

Having had lots of covers in the past i've not come across any of the normal shop bought stuff that really has the same element of quality about it, and of course you have the added bonus of a sleeve that not many others will be using so it feels much more unique.

The difference between a quality suit made with care by hand and cheap "off the peg" suit...

I got my black/green Joli sleeve a few days ago. It's really nice and it's not at all hard to stuff the laptop in like I was afraid of.

The leather is definitely soft enough to flex under its own weight, to the person who asked that.

It does flex, but i feel there is enough padding to keep it from little bumps. The leather feels quality.

Another leather alternative - the $68 Full grain leather saddleback sleeve....

Is this Joli? It doesnt seems Joli to me. As i felt the Joli's leather is much more nicer than the picture.

I own a Black/Red sleeve for my 2012 MBA 13". It feel and smell nice! :):D

It's a saddleback sleeve, it's made from different kind of leather, the one used by saddleback is full grain, commonly used on you guessed it, saddles, and boots, the joli seems to be top-grain. the top-grain is thinner and more pliable.

Those who have a Joli sleeve...

Would you feel comfortable using it to protect while traveling long distances or would you advise a more sturdy case?

Do you mainly use it in and about the house or are you confident that it provides enough protection to sling into a bag?

Yes, it's perfect for traveling, I almost never use the sleeve at home. It sits in my desk waiting for me to go out of the door. ;-)

Correct....I don't buy a sleeve just for looks, I buy for protection and the saddleback is about a 1/16 inch of solid saddle leather, nothing is punching thru that.....although the tobacco color here is really nice looking with it's stitching . I would buy the joli, though if you are traveling only occasionally, though, but mine is in and out of bags and luggage all week, every week.

For my use, yes. I guess it depends on what you have with it in the bag and how much you throw the bag around. In my case, I primarily need protection from scratches. For that purpose, it's more than adequate. I have taken it on overseas trips without any problems.

Same here, I travel a lot never had any problems, and it still looks as great as the first day I got it :)

Don't like the looks of the saddleback sleeve, the stitching looks really sloppy compared to the one I have here next to me.

Mine just arrived yesterday (13" Black/Aqua) and that's why I bought it - to protect while I travel. My bag never leaves my side/shoulder, so I don't need something to protect it from the bag smashers down on the ramp - I just need something that will protect from scratches and bumps inside my bag.

It looks, smells and feels great - if you're in doubt, pull the trigger! You will not be disappointed :)
