Not usually a Jon fan but I did catch that piece on tv and it was quite funny with just enough truth to it. :D

He kind of hit the nail on the head with that diatribe. I especially liked the 1984 big brother reference. Quite appropriate as apple has been acting more like big brother and less "thinking different"

Whoa. That's around 8 minutes of commentary about the issue. It's plain to see that Jon is secretly in love with Apple.

And here I thought Jon was smart and would find out the details of this story before "reporting" it.

Funny segment, disappointed in lack of research.

Probably because they sent him an iPad for free, so he has to be nice.
Possibly.... I like to think of Colbert as the Apple show-off guy in comedy since he is one of the few, who gets access to Apple's stuff outside the lockdown doors and can display stuff in public (see iPad on Music Awards).

I bet he has some small contract with Apple.

I thought the segment fell short. Could have been much funnier but I still liked it. :D

Spot-on commentary.

PR nightmare for a company that likes to cultivate its image.

Jon Stewart on the Lost Next-Generation iPhone

https://www.macrumors.com/images/macrumorsthreadlogodarkd.png

Jon Stewart, host of the comedy news show The Daily Show, offered an extended segment on yesterday's show addressing the ongoing saga of the lost next-generation iPhone that was acquired by Gizmodo. The clip has been receiving a fair bit of attention today due to the show's popularity and Stewart's angle on the story taking Apple to task for its role in events.

Stewart's monologue, which kicked off the show, highlights many of the key events in the story thus far and sees Stewart professing his love for Apple gadgets but directly addressing Apple CEO Steve Jobs with his fears that Apple is becoming "The Man" in a reversal of the company's landmark '1984' commercial that introduced the Macintosh. Stewart draws a comparison to the reclusive Howard Hughes, suggesting that Jobs could be heading down the same road with the "paranoid corporate genius stuff" that saw Hughes engage in increasingly bizarre behavior. And unsurprisingly, Stewart also takes the opportunity to deliver a rant at AT&T's service, a popular target of discontent for iPhone owners.
