JonBenet Ramsey Suspect Arrested...

Looks like the keystone cops in Colorado had this guy and never looked into him because they were focused on the parents. Yahoo Cops, Im not surprised and the parents went through hell and Mrs Ramsey is now dead.:( I hope this guy is the killer and that they can prove it.
 
It would be nice to see John and Patsy Ramsey exonerated, even though Patsy died earlier this year (another tragedy in a tragic case).

Since John Ramsey ran a company that my employer did business with, we already knew who he was when the case first broke 10 years ago.

Suspect detained in Thailand in connection with ’96 murder, DA source says

BOULDER, Colo. - A man suspected in the slaying of 6-year-old beauty queen JonBenet Ramsey nearly a decade ago was arrested Wednesday in Thailand, the district attorney said.

Colorado authorities scheduled a news conference Thursday to discuss the case but declined further comment.

Federal officials familiar with the case, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the man was already being held in Bangkok on unrelated sex charges. CBS reported that the suspect, a 41-year-old second-grade teacher from the U.S., will be brought back to the United States this weekend.

The girl was found beaten and strangled in the basement of the family’s home in Boulder, Colo., on Dec. 26, 1996.Law enforcement officials from Boulder were flying to Bangkok to present Thai authorities with documents in the slaying of the 6-year-old beauty pageant contestant, officials in Washington said. They asked to remain anonymous pending an announcement in Colorado.

According to KUSA, the suspect in custody knew details about the murder that had not been made available to the general public.

This is kind of wild... Boulder's only 40 minutes away from me... Another incident that Colorado is famous for, unfortunately...
 
That's really weird. I was just thinking about this case yesterday since there was another unsolved murder from 1996 covered on the Chicago news.

If this is indeed the guy, I'm sure the family will be relieved to have it over with. I know a lot of suspicion focused on them.
 
So... the guy was visiting Thailand when he got pinched. Why? Is he into kiddie pr0n? (Seems like a lot of the talk I've heard about Thailand is that it's a place where people go to indulge their weird and often illegal-in-the-US sexual appetites...)

If he did it, I'm glad they caught him... and I'll be the first to apologize for saying that I thought her parents were somehow behind it.
 
I feel so bad for those people. I hope they really got the right guy and the family gets some peace.
 
Apparently he's now admitted it. He was a substitute teacher here in the Bay Area (Petaluma) for a few months before being arrested on child pornography charges. I wonder how the case was cracked after all these years. I also wonder how he did it, as there have been a lot of questions about the circumstances...
 
this is good to hear, im interested to hear how the whole thing panned out. it seemed for the longest time that the parents had to have something to do with it.. im glad they didnt and im glad that they will finally get some closure
 
I am a death penalty opponent, but cases like this make me rethink it.

How happy the dad must be, or atleast relieved, and now he will have to relive the whole mess again through the press and courts. My wife and I were talking yesterday about how it would be better if the mom was still alive. This morning I was thinking maybe it was her soul that helped them find the killer! Maybe it took her death to solve it.;)

Many parents in Boulder will sleep better in the days to come, and every male teacher that is not into Kiddie Porn can now hate their job, as the public eyes their every move.

The parents were tried and convicted by the press and media........

Apparently he knew of details which had never been released to the media... looks like he slipped up, or perhaps a guilty conscience led him to slip up "accidentally on purpose".

At any rate, I formally retract any statements I've made in the past where I said I thought her parents were somehow responsible. It's just too bad that this guy's confession couldn't've come while Patsy Ramsey was still alive...
 
All this seems really fishy to me. Ive been watching this guy on the news this morning "confess" and Im just not buying it. Of course, time will tell but I thing hes making it all up.....

ummm... why is the DoHS involved? was mr karr in possession of toothpaste?
 
TV news is saying that after the crime, Karr wrote a term paper about it that really impressed his professor and prompted him to advise Karr to write a book. In the "research" Karr did, he sent out e-mails with details that made several people suspicious. They passed word on to authorities, and the rest you know.

Weird.
 
I'm going to bet the wife was in on it. There's no way this guy could have entered a sealed house in Colorado's winter weather without making noise, making the family dog bark, grab her from the bedroom, and take her downstairs, then rape, beat and strangle her without anyone hearing it. The whole thing stinks.

She just looked like snake (Pat Ramsey). Her entire body language, that glare in her eyes. She probably knew the guy, got some money from him... when things went sour they tried to cook up the kidnapping plot to cover it up...
 
Apparently the guy's ex-wife says she was with him in Alabama at the time. She divorced him in 2001 after he was arrested on kiddie porn charges, so it doesn't seem like she'd provide a false alibi, but who knows....
