Duct tape has nothing to do with duct work.
In fact if you use it on your ductwork you're violating more than a few codes because it is not heat/flame resistant.
Duct tape actually did start out as duck tape because it was made from duck cloth.

Anything for attention and recognition. So he's a rock star. Surely he's got things to do that would involve Apples mainstream products.
 
But what other company would give him free rein with budget and more importantly, where else would his designs take precedence over engineering. That alone is enough to make him want to stay.

Imagine what would have happened if Samsung had hired him one week before that watch monstrosity was shown to the public. I think Jony would have asked to put the watches in each colour into a neat line, pulled a big hammer out of his pocket and smashed every single one.
