And I posted something from earlier than that when he was heavier.

Haha no thanks creeper, but I'm 5'9" 168lbs size 30 jeans if you were wondering.

It's definitely yellow gold with midnight blue classic buckle.
Why is the "9" in the 3:00 position on the watch.
Surprised Tim doesn't have one. Guess he think it's too expensive... or it could send the wrong image. Steve also looks like the type who would've preferred the SS model.
Tim doesn't sport one because he doesn't want to send a message of superiority. Jony seems like he loves everything luxury so it suits him. Plus he's not the CEO so doesn't need to care about image as much.

Why do we have to assume there's some ulterior motive? Maybe Tim just isn't a fan of gold?

So if someone wears a gold watch that means they're pretentious?

Why do you assume Tim does not like gold???
Everything is about perception
Why do you assume he's purposely not wearing gold to not appear a certain way?
You're taking the piss right?
Bet you that's an artifact of the photo. Different white balance may throw off the gold color as white. It's clearly gold in the OP. Anyway, why would Jony Ive want to wear the 38mm SS with the feminine Modern Buckle?
Hard to tell if it's gold or stainless. Could be yellow gold with midnight blue buckle.

I've seen him wearing rose gold with white sport band but that obviously wouldn't look right with a suit.
That's the date. The date (and day for watches with it) typically goes at the 3 o'clock position. Take a look at watches like the Rolex Datejust.
Regarding all the comments about gaining weight, it's no secret that the neck gets fatter as men get older, even if they maintain the same weight. It's just part of the normal aging process especially in men. You might want to think twice before concluding that he has ballooned up.
Likewise, the earlobes get longer as one gets older (women too).
He's 48...
Maybe not the earlobes, but the neck gets thicker at that age. This is not surprising.

I prefer people to be real. Since I have nothing else to go on I'm going to assume Tim Cook is wearing the stainless steel watch because that is his preference not because he thanks wearing the gold watch would make him look a certain way.
